In its relentless move to encourage Nigeria's Super Eagles Team to victory at the Angola 2010 African Cup of nations, Guinness Nigeria Plc fulfilled yet another promise to the team. The much talked about Guinness man of greatness is blasting soccer fans with so much excitement. The first winner is Chinedu Obasi, the first man to hit a goal into the net at the tournament. Obasi was voted Guinness Man of Greatness for the first match against the Egyptians. Following the steps of Obasi was another promising football star,Daniel Shittu. The super Eagles player was also voted the Guinness Man of Greatness title holder after his brilliant performance durning the Nigerian match against Republic of Benin. The talk of the twon amonst football fans is that the excitement is yet to begin and Guinness assures that it would be a smooth ride to victory for the Super Eagles f Nigeria at Angola 2010.
The scheme, which is part of the Guinness® Power of Naija
campaign, will represent the views of the nation’s football fans who are being
called by Guinness® to vote for players they believe demonstrate
Greatness. An award will be made after every Super Eagles game and fans
can show their support and vote for their player - as many times as they wish - during the
match and up to 48 hours after the final whistle. Votes can be cast by:
· SMS: SMS MAN followed by the name of the Super Eagles
player to 1759 (SMS costs N10.00)
· Phone: Call 0800 1759 1759 and register the vote by
saying the name of the Super Eagles player – calls to this number are FREE
· Email: email the name of the Super Eagles player to man@guinnessgreatness.com – Emails are FREE.
After each match the player with the most fan votes for that match
will be presented with the Award by Guinness® Greatness Ambassador and
former Super Eagle Man of Greatness – Jay Jay Okocha.
