OMOWUNMI AKINNIFESI |
Omowunmi Akinnifesi needs little or no introduction.Unlike most queens who fizzled out of public glare,Omowunmi steps out every now and then, shinning like a morning star on the red carpets.Omowunmi's simple yet glamorous look make her the cybosure of all eyes.
After her convocation from the University of Lagos last week,Omowunmi says she is working on massive projects that would inject alot of creativity into the PR and advertising business in Nigeria.
"You know i just graduated from UNILAG in Geography and Regional Planning with a 2.1 (Second Class Upper Division).Right now, I am working on my PR company.I would be launching a project for a major company in Lagos State.It was supposed to be January 2008",Omowunmi told gistmaster.com in a lengthen phone interview yesterday (Sunday 1 February 2008).
"Is she shelving Elle Poise her ushering outfit?" Gistmaster asked curiously." Well, I started running Elle Poise because people were always asking me to provide ushers for their events but this one is going to be a PR company" she explained.
On what informs her sense of fashion and style, Omowunmi told Gistmaster that she likes wearing things that are stylish on her whenever she is invited to be an event."I have worked with some designers who make clothes for me in the past like Mon Ami, but right now I have a designer known as MAI.We both put heads together to define what would be the outcome of whatever I would be wearing" she said.
When it comes to female designers and accessories in Nigeria, Omowunmi said she respects Deola Sagoe of Odu'a Creation,Folake Akindele of Tiffany Amber and Jewel by Lisa.
On the issue of romance with Dele Fasan of Media Consult,Omowunmi disclosed that she was shocked that the guy could say they are dating.According to her, they only met for the first time on the red carpet that day."The guy is a low life kind of person.The reason why people enjoy the story is because i am the celebrity so to say" she said.
On the qualities she looks for in a man, Omowunmi told Gistmaster that the ultimate thing is that the man is God's fearing.
Omowunmi, who told us she is inspired by the leadership qualities of former NAFDAC boss, Dora Akuyili,Mrs.Ceceilia Ibru and Oluremi Tinubu, disclosed that she would do anything within reach to serve as a role model in the society."I will focus on anything that has to do with women empowerment" she said.
On Monday 2 January 2009:Gistmaster.com made put a call through to DELE FASAN and he agreed to have been quoted right but said he never knew that the report would travel that far and fast (imagine!).Whichever way one looks at it,Fasan proved to be incoherent and inconsistent with his words.

Funny i saw Omowunmi that day as her driver droped her. She was alone. We kinda enterd 2geda n i thot she'll snob me but she was very nice.
