A prominent member of Nigeria’s ruling party (PDP) and former Chairman of Nigeria Port Authority (NPA),Chief Bode George has been sentenced to jail based on corruption charges leveled against him.

George and five other former members of the board have been standing trial for the various corruption charges brought against them by the Economic and Financial Commission. In what could be the termed as the end of the case at the Lagos High Court,Justice Olubunmi Oyewole sentenced the accused to two years imprisonment.The ex-board members were charged with a 68 count charge over fraud amounting to about N85 Billion (Naira).

Mr.Festus Keyamo, who stood in for the prosecution (EFCC) described the Judgement as a welcome development for democracy and anti-corruption in Nigeria.

	Yes, he has been sentenced to a 2years jail term: but if i may ask, where are all the hundreds of billions Naira he stole ? What happen to it ? If i'll be given N800 billion i can spend even 10years in jail.

	This is a sign of change for the better in Nigeria.It is also a lesson for many more who think that there is no law in Nigeria.Obasanjo should start warming up to go back to jail for his many crimes against the Nigerian State.
