The election of Otunba Iyiola Omisore as the senator representing Osun East in the Nigerian National Assembly has been nullified. Omisore, a former deputy governor durning the Bisi Akande’s administration fell out with his boss and had to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).He was first elected a senator in 2003, when he was still being detained at Agodi Prisons.

  He returned to the Senate in 2007 and now the appeal court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State yesterday (29 October 2009) has invalidated the election, stating that it was marred by irregularities
