REDSTRAT DIRECTOR BURIES DAD IN OBOKPA,DELTA STATE

Story and photos by Niyi Tabiti Chief Reporter Chude Jideonwo, one of the directors of Redstrat (Organisers of Future Awards and producers of Rubbin' Minds on Channels Television in Nigeria, buried his father on Saturday 7 June 2008. The event took place in Obokpa Village in Aniocha North Local Government,Delta State.www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com gathered that the late Ifeayin Jideonwo was a former staff of African Petroleum and Nigerian Ports Authority before his death at the age of 54. Chude, the only child of the deceased was ably supported by friends who travelled in chartered vehicles to Delta State.Chude, a lawyer by training was showing off as a 'brave man' until it was internment time.He wept uncontrollably. People around were also moved to tears in sympathy. Apart from the burial, it was an interesting trip to Obokpa.He roved until we got into the palmwine hut.Watch out for the gist on this blog. Story & photos by Niyi Tabiti Chief Reporter Remember we kept you very much to date when the screening for new VJs on Soundcity, a top music channel on various television stations in Nigeria.Those who were eventually picked and the old hands that were ratained were formally unveiled to the press last Sunday at Jade Chinese Restaurant in Victoria Island,Lagos. Some of those who made the list are Pearl,Titi Adelagun,Derele (retained),S.Dot (retained) and Yinka. Chinwe was,however, dropped.We spoke with the Chinwe and she said there was no problem.She,however,confirmed that she is still with Soundcity as a presenter. It was a night of glitz and humour.The VJ's also used the opportunity to answer questions on their expectations.There was also a dinner. That night, I saw former Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries,Festus Odinmegwu.He came to have dinner with a 'friend'.I also saw Donald Duke,former governor of Cross River State.He came to hangout with a friend.
