Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar recently pulled politicians and moneybags from different parts of the world  to the wedding of his beautiful daughter, Bilikisu Atiku Abubakar to  Adamu Modibo.

Bilikisu according to information pieced together by gistmaster.com works with one of the leading telecommunications company in Nigeria, Globacom. She studied in Switzerland before proceeding to Brunel University.

Her husband is a lawyer, investment banker and the Chief Executive of Sigma Pensions Limited, Abuja.

The wedding was a congregation of some of  top ally of the former Vice President of Nigeria. The likes of Senator Ben Obi, Otunba Johnson Oyewole Fasawe, General Ibrahim Babangida. The Presidential aspirant on the platform of Labour party, Chief Dele Momodu was also at the event.

At the moment on Facebook, some people have criticized the Ovation publisher for attending such function. Other simply think that there is nothing bad in Bob Dee as he is fondly called attending another Presidential aspirant's daughter's event.

Those in the first school of thought believe that if Momodu is 'hobnobbing' with the camp of Atiku then there is no way he would defend himself from benefiting from Atiku and his camp especially now that the former VP is facing allegations right left and centre on money laundry.

Which ever you look at it, Bob Dee tells those who care to listen that he was duly invited to wedding and he attended. A gentleman will do the same, as politics is not a do or die affair or what do you think?

AKINGBOLA WANTS EFCC TO GIVE HIM BACK HIS RUXTON,IKOYI HOME

The former Vice Chairman/ Managing Director of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Mr. Erastus Akingbola is asking the court to  allow him to take possession of his 12 Ruxton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos home. Akingbola said the court should compel the EFCC (Economic and Financial Commission) to leave the house since it was not part of the schedule of property attached before the court.

The former trial judge in Akingbola's case, Mr. Justice Tijani Abubakar had earlier given an interim forfeiture of the property belonging to the former bank chief.

The present trial judge, Justice Achibong of the Federal High Court,Ikoyi, today (Monday November 29) said he was reserving ruling pending the determination of the matter on stay of proceedings earlier argued on behalf of Akingbola by his lawyer, Chief Felix Fagbohungbe (SAN)

Akingbola refused to take his plea when his case came up for hearing today in Lagos. His lawyer, Fagbohungbe (SAN) argued that his client had already filed an application asking the court to quash the charges before him.

Erastus Akingbola is standing trial for gross embezzlement and mismanagement of money in his care as the Vice Chairman / Managing Director of Intercontinental Bank Nigeria Plc to the the tune of over 300 Billion Naira.

1) Lagos Oriental Hotel: Located very close to Lekki Phase 1 roundabout and opposite GET Arena, Lagos Oriental is one of the most expensive Hotels in Lagos.  The hotel, which is said to be owned by former Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu is built on class and style that one can find in any parts of the world.

Cost of Rooms: Gistmaster.com gathered that Oriental Hotel's Presidential Suite cost 462,000 (About 3,100)  a night. It is more expensive than Eko Hotel and Suites, whose rate for the same accommodation is N250,000 (Naira). The Ambassador Suite at Lagos Oriental Hotel is N404,300 per night,the classic Deluxe room is  N98,200. The classic superior room here cost N75,000. For the Junior Suite, one must be ready to pay 161,700. The executive junior Suite and the business suite at Lagos oriental hotel goes for N231,000 (Naira) and N288,880 (Naira) respectively.

2) Lagos Sheraton Hotels,Ikeja-

Sheraton Hotels,Ikeja,Lagos:
The Lagos Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja is located some minutes drive from the Murtala Mohammed International
Airport. It is also close to the MM2, Ikeja.The Presidential suite of the hotel cost
353,150 Naira (This is close to 2,350 in US Dollars (per night). The lowest room here is the single classic room and it
goes for 77,226 Naira ( about 550 dollars a night). the classic single room goes for 81,226 dollars.
for the club single and double rooms , one  just be interested in dropping 89,719 and 93,719 Naira per night.
For the businessman looking to sleep in the business single suite- it goes for 140,000 per night while the double suite goes for
150,062 Naira. For Junior suite- you must be ready to shell out a whooping 182,318 Naira a night and for the diplomatic suite Sheraton
will welcome you with a bill of 271,654 Naira a night.

As at the time of this work, a Dollar goes for 150 Naira.

3) Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island,Lagos-

Eko Hotel and Suites is located right in the heart of Victoria Island,Nigeria's biggest business district.Most corporate organizations are located here.Aside rooms, the hotel also has various event venues.

Cost of Rooms at Eko Hotel and Suites- The presidential Suite here cost N250,000,the classic superior room here is N67,000 (Naira) while the Atlantic superior room is all yours after paying N74,000. for the clasic suite suite here, you have to payN97,000 a night. The diplomatic suite goes for 145,000 Naira. Inside the Eko Suites- you have to pay N77,000 for a Deluxe room,N105,000 (Naira) for the studio room while the executive room goes for N170,000. For the Garden Claasic room, you just have t pay N56,000 while the Standard room here is N40,000 (Naira) only.

4) FOUR POINTS BY SHERATON:

The newly opened Four Points By Sheraton Hotel is located right at the entrance of Oniru Estate in Victoria Island Extension. It is very close to The Palms shopping mall and Lekki Phase one roundabouts. The Traditional  room at Four Points by Sheraton goes for N59,000.The Prefered Room here goes for N63,000 and the Executive room will be yours for a night at the cost of N67,000. For the suite, you must be ready to shell out N74,000 a night (about $500 US Dollars). The cost given on the four points by Sheraton Hotel is exclusive of the 10 percent service charge,5 per cent VAT and 5 per cent Consumption tax.

Ayo started out by hand embellishing T shirts with oversized crystals, semi precious jewels and gems and then wearing them to underground parties and raves while living in Toronto Canada. Quickly, he had a loyal following and people started asking for customized and personalized T-shirts. Soon, demand became so great that what began as a small business five years ago has blossomed into a full fledged T shirt line with agency and sales representation in Canada, USA and the UK.

A different kind of designer - passionate about design, style and originality. What makes Ayo different? OK, for starters, his clothing designs are handmade and he uses unusual and stunning materials like crystals, rubberized embellishments, leatherette, aluminium and treated wood on T-shirts, Polo shirts and Vests. He hand embellishes, attaches and sew these remarkable and visually arresting 3D adornments to create wearable pieces of art.

Secondly, he  limits each design to just a few pieces and sometimes there is just a one-off piece because his designs are never mass produced. According to Ayo....I create a new design, put it up for sale and when it’s gone, it’s gone.

Because of his background in interior design and luxury furnishings – facilitated by enrollment in  Design Courses at the Centennial College, Toronto and then the prestigious Etobicoke College of Arts, He  attends the various major international design shows for inspiration and insight into the design world as a whole. This enables him respond quickly to trends and work with new and interesting materials, fabrics and embellishments.  His T shirts are not the “normal” run of the mill printed piece of clothing. That’s too easy. Rather, he uses material and embellishments that would not be out of place on a piece of hanging art.

Pushing the boundary of design has never been an option, it is the only way.

The Central Working Committee for Nigeria’s most respected youth event, The Future Awards, has decided to unveil the long list for the biggest award, Young Person of the Year, one week before schedule!

“We are very excited by what we have come up with this year – so excited that we have 10 names on the list this rather than the usual 8,” says Shade Ladipo, a member of the committee. “And we thought we should share that excitement!”

All the nominees for Young Person of the Year have been taken out of the various categories as always and identified as trailblazing role models for young Nigerians,” Ladipo said. “They are all winners, and so they will all be given plaques like last year. Also, they will not go through the 4 stages of judging for the awards, only one stage for voting and one stage for judging since all of them are finalists and will be so recognized at the awards.

The fellow, according to those who are in the know, works with a financial institution that regulates other financial institutions and he is based in Abuja. No one could say much about the guy but we heard he is loaded and widely traveled too.

Sources told gistmaster.com that the two lovebirds met about two years ago but they didn't start dating until 8 months ago. Perhaps, this is one of the reasons,Sofiya is also flying in from her US base to be close to her man.

For now, no one could say whether or not there is marriage proposal yet. All we get is that the two are happy together.

Sofiya, who was the PR consultant for the blockburster hit, Ije  movie premiere in Lagos is always a regular face at most high profile event in town.She is said to have also done PR/Advertising for clients such as MUD cosmetics,Mannequin Magazine, MC Larry D,Imose Concept.

However, there is also gist in town that the United States born lady has something in common with Nigeria's international music act, Tuface Idibia. When gistmaster.com got across to her, she denied dating Tuface.

"I have seen him at occasions but that does not mean I am dating him. People have called and even sent me text messages on the same issue." she said. Adding that she does not know where the rumour emanated from in the first place.

The creme de la creme of the Nigerian high society gathered today at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (City of David) Parish, Victoria Island, Lagos to witness the wedding of Ogor Ogboi, (daughter of Mr & Mrs. Ogboi) and Jonathan, the handsome son of Admiral Mike Okhai Akhigbe (retd), Nigeria's former Chief of General Staff.The groom's father was Nigeria's number 2 man durning the administration of General Abdulsalam Abubakar.

At the church service Nigerian business leaders and former military top brass came to  pray with the newest couple in town.

Lets hope that she would keep it up. Yes, we are impressed to say the least about what we thought of the newly sworn in Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Madam Olufunmilayo Adunni Olayinka.

When you talk of a true African woman who carries herself with class and elegance, she has it. When you talk of a beauty with brain, we know that the ex-banker has it.

Those who have been watching her style of leadership told gistmaster.com that the ravishing beauty is indeed a good example. She does not carry her shoulder high like some people who got into leadership positions overnight and determined to misuse it.

Gistmaster.com saw her on Friday 26 November 2010 at Eko Hotel & Suites at the French Week Dinner. She came alongside her husband. It took some people time to believe that she was indeed the deputy governor. Why? there were no overzealous policemen embarrassing people all in the name of protecting a public office holder as the usual case with most of them. The couple simply entered in the comfort of their arms and were ushered to their seats cool and calm. Though they were accompanied by policemen, there was no pushing.

As at the rime of this report, the event is still holding at the New Expo Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.
The dress is was made by the visiting French- Lebanese designer, Dany Atrache.

The adorable former beauty queen look ravishing as usual in the dress. Omowunmi confirmed to gistmaster.com at the event that the dress is actually worth 150,000 Dollars. The dress is made with real Diamond.

Gistmaster.com gathered that Omowunmi was only wearing the dress for night. She came in another dress but was invited back stage to pick a nice dress for herself in the collections of Dany Atrache. She went for this beautiful dress.

Dany Atrache is one of the most sought after designers in the world. He custom made clothes are also one of the most expensive in the world.

One of the guest argued that the dress couldn't have been that expensive. its just part of the designer hype for the price of fortune.
