BANKY W's surprise birthday party on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at The Grotto in Victoria Island, Lagos brought out a large number of A- list entertainers.

With so much love from fans on twitter, facebook and elsewhere, and a guest list that included Akon, Psquare, MI, Tiwa Savage, Kel, Ini Edo,Skales, Toolz and others, the R&B giant and EME Chairman had a time of his life!

“Even when I gbagaun, I don’t get half as many mentions as this ooh…. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes… God bless” the singer said to his fans on twitter, earlier in the day.

Before The Grotto surprise party put together by his friends, Banky told journalists in Lagos he plans to dedicate more of his time to "helping young talents grow and do all I can to make the journey easier for talented young people out there trying to build a career in music".

"As I grow older, it's becoming very important for me to play my little part in developing this industry; to play my own role in empowering our youths, and in extension, the nation. I'll be happy if I can help more and more upcoming talents escape the hurdles I passed through while coming up. Everyone sees Banky W, Wizkid, 2face, Psquare or D'banj - but people forget that for each one of us that makes it, there are dozens others who fell by the way side; most of them could have made it if only they got more support. I made it to where I am because of the love and support from the media, my label, fans, promoters and my family. I think it's my responsibility, to make sure I support those coming behind. That's what I've done with Wizkid. We're working on Skales now, and many more are on the way".

Banky W’s protégé WizKid was missing in action from his mentor’s "Lagos party", but he had a good reason- he was away in America having series of sit downs and focused discussions with prominent African-Americans and promoters ahead of the forthcoming EME tour. “Happy Birthday to my big bro, Banky W.  Some who have heard the duo of Peter and Paul Okoye of Psquare talk will tell you that they always put their shoulder high. 
  Well, don't blame them, those guys are made.As entertainers,n they can afford to close down the counter of a bank, at least for some them if they had to go through traditional bank transactions to get paid.
 Sources in the know disclosed that Psquare earn about one hundred thousand dollars each time they are engaged by promoters especially abroad. The promoters also provide their tickets and other logistics.
 "For now, their fee is the highest.You can cross check this fact", a reliable source told gistmaster.com recently
 Just last week they were in France and according to what we gathered, a were paid about eighty thousand dollars ($80,000).
 These guys know business like the back of their palm!

PSQUARE 'DISS' DBANJ, OTHERS OVER COLLABO WITH INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS

 Psquare (Peter and Paul Okoye) are at again. The singing duo recently described the way some of their colleagues in Nigerian entertainment industry go about doing collabo with international artists as nothing but colonial mentality.
 At a press conference which was held in the London, Psquare said
   "If you are taking me to a club to listen to western music, forget it I wont go there
    Don't be deceived by this collabo thing...cause they are trying to tap from us
    If you don't open the doors for us, we would shut our door.
    I don't need to do a collabo with somebody before you can start playing my music there (abroad), we play your songs in Nigeria, did you do a collabo with anybody?
    We don't need no collaboration from no artist, we don't need no Jay Z, we don't need no Kanye West!"

 Obviously,Psquare was referring to D'banj's new collabo with Snop Dog and his new deal with Kanye West record company. Darey also did one with chamillionaire

LANDORD INSISTS “PSQUARE MUST LEAVE MY HOUSE”

Following their disagreement and what close sources regarded as rudeness on the part of Paul and Peter Okoye of the Psquare fame, the owner of their present residence insists they must vacate the residence or face the full wrath of the law. More worrisome was the fact that Jude, the elder brother of the singing duo was alleged to have also insulted the businessman.
Contrary to speculations that the duo of Peter and Paul Okoye of Psquare fame bought the house in Omole Estate, the Landlord has come out to say that it is a rented apartment. They paid 5.1 million Naira for three years but they allegedly went against the tenancy agreement.
The Landlord who has already filed a case against them in court, said he was shocked when he found out that they have broken down a wall in the house to make way for a studio without his knowledge. When he took it up with the twins, he alleged they insulted him so much, using so many unprintable names.
