Omotola expressed her excitement stating “I’m so excited that I’m going to be playing a part at Guinness The Match.  I have been singing since I was eight and the very first song I learnt as a child was my national anthem, which makes this performance a dream come true for me.  I dream music, eat music, and play music and I have been practicing every day in preparation for the big performance.”

 

The others include Sunday Gbadamosi the official photographer of the day who would be at the pitch side to get major shots alongside Complete Sports.

Tochukwu Mogekwu who would be working real hard along side Samson Siasia as the assistant coach to ensure victory for the nation., Oliver Anozie as Pitch side TV Analyst for super sports. Emeka Egbuawa, as the radio commentator for Brilla FM.

They  all expressed their excitement and appreciation to Guinness for giving the opportunities.

For more than ten years, Genevieve has been a top star in Nollywood, making money from blockbuster movies and brand endorsements.But the Imo state born Nollywood actress  still believe there is still more to her than most people don't knew.

In an interview monitored by gistmaster.com , Genevieve declared her waist as the best part of her body. " I like my waist because it’s small and neat and gives me my hourglass figure" Genevieve told New African woman magazine.

Genevieve who started acting at the age of 8,when she starred in ripples , a soap running on TV in the late 80s/early 90s, says she did not set out to be famous  she just wanted to act and exhibit her creative talent but mother luck smiled on her

How she tells the fake friends from the real ones, Genevieve said, “At first it was difficult but now I have developed automatic radar to detect fakers and get rid of them before they can even say my name"

"The industry is full of fake people, which is why it’s so important for me to have true people around me and my family and friends. I can count my friends on one hand with Vicky being my oldest friend. We share everything together and she comes everywhere with me" Genevieve poured out her mind confidently

“When the camera stops rolling I go back to whom I really am. I am a different person when there are no cameras, when I am by myself I am very reserved and so are my friends.

The 32 year old actress and single mother of one says  she would love to star in a movie alongside Johnny Depp and also have a man like him in her life.

"I find him a very deep actor, mostly because he represents what I represent, he acts for himself and he picks out roles that he enjoys. It’s not about the movie being commercial”.

On her ideal man, Genevieve answered, “Well, we all want a handsome man, but ultimately we want one that is good inside. But I would love to meet someone with a Johnny Depp personality and with Boris Kodjo’s lips.Perhaps, Dbanj who is being speculated to be in a relationship with Genevieve is still somewhere near this.

Though many feels, Genevieve didn't make much impact with her St. Genevieve clothing line, which she launched in 2008, she says she still want to do more in fashion. At the moment, she is setting off her Denim Jeans line.

" I design simple clothes using African prints and I design for the confident woman who loves to look beautiful. But I am also a bit of a tomboy and I have loads of jeans, which inspired me to design my own collection. I just love jeans and how it can make you look relaxed yet elegant if you know how to pull it off" Genevieve said.

She mentioned that she had been designing since primary school and she would definitely love to do more in the fashion world.

Genny says despite all her achievements, she is yet to be satisfied. According to her she won’t stop until she gets the Oscar.

However, it seems as though many women are unaware of what it means to properly maintain a weave or what to consider when deciding to install a weave. When weave maintenance and knowledge are low, hair abuses and bad habits are formed. Please, don’t let this happen to you. Here are a few popular poor weave practices, along with some tips and tricks to improve your hair weave experience.

 Reeking Weave
Wearing a weave on your head during hot months is like wearing a hat on your head. More than likely, you will perspire. Moisture will get caught in your scalp and the sweat will settle in your hair. Because your hair is not getting the appropriate air it should receive, you may develop an unappealing odor. Leaving your weave in for an extended amount of time, or not frequently washing your hair can result in this bad weave stench. Trust me, this is never cute, and should never happen.

Patting Your Weave

An obvious sign a girl is wearing a weave, is when you see her patting her head. Most weave-wearers will have an itchy scalp or hair discomfort. In order to get to the problem, women tend to pat their weave. While there is nothing wrong with patting your hair in private, I must say, doing so in public is slightly inappropriate. It is a distracting, unappealing and embarrassing habit that must be abolished. Chances are if you are experiencing a high level of discomfort, it is time to wash your hair, apply oil to your scalp, or remove the tracks. Exposed Tracks

It’s summertime, the air is warm, and the weather is breezy. Chances are the wind will blow in the wrong direction and completely expose your tracks and/or sewn up hairline to the world. Most women would rather leave something to the imagination. You do not want everyone to have proof that you are wearing a weave. Ladies, be conscientious of this when you are rocking your weaves. While some styles flow naturally in the wind, others do not. While it may seem infeasible to hold down your hair every time a brush of wind blows your way, it just may be necessary to prevent the horror of exposed tracks.

Bird Nest

 A bird’s nest occurs when your hair is matted, tangled and a H.A.M on the top of your head. We have all seen it before. A bird’s nest is difficult to tame and control and could spring up at any time without you knowing it. This tends to occur when women purchase cheaper brands of hair. Remember, you get what you pay for when it comes to weaving hair. If you want to wear a weave for 2 months, you should not purchase hair that lasts for only 2 weeks. The best way to combat the bird’s nest is to invest in hair weave detangler or conditioner. Also, carry a comb with you wherever you go


Hair All Over

Have you ever seen a woman who had more hair on her clothes then in her tracks? If yes, then chances are she was suffering from major hair shedding. This typically occurs when a cheaper brand of hair is used or when the weave has been left in past its expiration date. In order to prevent shedding, it is best not to cut your wefts before installing the hair. When you cut the wefts, you are making them weak and susceptible to hair loss. Also, when styling your hair use a large paddle brush or wide toothcomb. When combing your hair, be sure to start from the bottom and work your way up. This ensures that you do not pull out the hair from the weft, reducing shedding.

With the rains coming down in torrents , there is no need to be sad and blue, wondering how your suede pumps would be able to weather the storm.  Well fret not, as the Jelly soles are here to save the day.

Joca Jelly as the flat sole version of these beautiful foot wear were being referred to as in the days of yore, have made a sexy comeback. The jelly shoes became a fad in the mid 1980s, when a pair could frequently be purchased for less than one US dollar. Like many fashions do, jellies made a comeback in the late 1990s, and again in 2003, re-gaining popularity with new styles .Now referred to as  Jelly shoes or jellies, theses  are shoes made of PVC plastic. Jelly shoes come in a large variety of brands and colors and the material is frequently infused with glitter. Its name refers to the semi-transparent materials with a jelly-like sheen.

I’m not entirely sure how the heel stays erect but I guess it does. The jellies which today have been made popular by the melissa brand- the original ‘jelly’ born in 1979 in Brazil.  For over 30 years the melissa label has been creating and designing shoes that are exported to all parts of the world.  melissa is made from PVC, which is especially manufactured by the Brazilian company Grendene in its plant in Brazil.  Researchers in its laboratory have already developed more than 70 formulations of PVC, thus enabling the company to produce injection moulded shoes of outstanding flexibility, comfort and design.

The melisa brand takes pride in being fashion-forward, fresh (with the signature candy scent), and creative. Besides Vivenne Westwood, there are also other colaborations from designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Karim Rashid, and Zaha Hadid. -Melissa's parent company,  the shoes are infused with a slightly sweet, bubble gum smell to keep them from getting that traditional jelly funk.Anyhow, It’s not too late for the shoes of summer!

Like the P Square brothers, Twins Affair - a duo made up of two brothers produce their on records which permits for them to interprete a record just as they want it when they write.

Twins Affair is a work in progress and they are putting in all the work to stay consistent, relevant over a long period of time.

'Oh bad gan' features a rap with near flawless delivery and talks on the topic of being overlooked by the tickle of your fancy.

The twin admire the duo of Peter and Paul Okoye for their consistency.

Their passion for music is unmatched. Twins Affair is made of Taye and Kehinde Olusola. Both music graduates from Delta State University, Abraka. They started music professionally 4 years ago as singers and music producers working with a handful of upcoming artistes including Finland based Nigerian Phemo, Tesleem d don and others.

The twin earlier collaborated with LKT (of  'Yahoozee' and 'follow follow me' featuring P Square fame) signed to Edlyne Records and a collaboration with Ruggedman is in the works.

Ahead of Wednesday 1 June 2011 Guinness the match friendly between Nigeria Super Eagles and Argentina, two veteran footballers, Segun Odegbami and Christian Chukwu have unveiled the conquest, a magnificent and specially commissioned trophy for match.

The unveiling ceremony took place recently at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Odegbami and Christian Chukwu are two of the most respected football stars ever in Nigeria history. Aside recognizing the invaluable contributions of Guinness Nigeria Plc, the headline sponsors of the Nigeria and Argentina  friendly, they both agreed that  the  match is indeed a great deal in Nigeria football history.

In his remark, Christian Chukwu, said “The Conquest is a sight to behold and will inspire both teams to demonstrate the very best of their passion and skills and walk away with the honour of being the first ever team to be crowned victors in Guinness The Match.

SAMSUNG MOBILE APPOINTS BANKY W, SASHA AS BRAND AMBASSADORS

 Goodies and more goodies keep coming the way of Nigerian entertainers. Yesterday, Gistmaster.com covered the official media presentation of Sasha and Banky W as Brand Ambassadors for Samsung Phones in Nigeria.

 Banky W (Bankole Wellington) was all smiles. He is one of the lucky 'American' returnees making good money from brand endorsements in Nigeria. Sasha too! The chic is 'chopping' right left and centre.

 Tola Odunsi one of the directors of Storm Records was also there. Olisa Adibua too.

The presentation took place at Victoria Crown Plaza, Hotel, Victoria Island.

 Top executives of Samsung told us that its a one year contract but did not disclose the worth of the ambassadorial deal. We guess it must have been good money, judging from the way Sasha and Banky W were 'bumping' with excitement at the presentation. A new Samsung is going to hit the market next month. House of Makeda was created by Teni Olafisoye, a musician and fashion designer.
