BANKY W's surprise birthday party on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at The Grotto in Victoria Island, Lagos brought out a large number of A- list entertainers.

With so much love from fans on twitter, facebook and elsewhere, and a guest list that included Akon, Psquare, MI, Tiwa Savage, Kel, Ini Edo,Skales, Toolz and others, the R&B giant and EME Chairman had a time of his life!

“Even when I gbagaun, I don’t get half as many mentions as this ooh…. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes… God bless” the singer said to his fans on twitter, earlier in the day.

Before The Grotto surprise party put together by his friends, Banky told journalists in Lagos he plans to dedicate more of his time to "helping young talents grow and do all I can to make the journey easier for talented young people out there trying to build a career in music".

"As I grow older, it's becoming very important for me to play my little part in developing this industry; to play my own role in empowering our youths, and in extension, the nation. I'll be happy if I can help more and more upcoming talents escape the hurdles I passed through while coming up. Everyone sees Banky W, Wizkid, 2face, Psquare or D'banj - but people forget that for each one of us that makes it, there are dozens others who fell by the way side; most of them could have made it if only they got more support. I made it to where I am because of the love and support from the media, my label, fans, promoters and my family. I think it's my responsibility, to make sure I support those coming behind. That's what I've done with Wizkid. We're working on Skales now, and many more are on the way".

Banky W’s protégé WizKid was missing in action from his mentor’s "Lagos party", but he had a good reason- he was away in America having series of sit downs and focused discussions with prominent African-Americans and promoters ahead of the forthcoming EME tour. “Happy Birthday to my big bro, Banky W. JAMB RESULT 2012:ONLY 3 CANDIDATES SCORED ABOVE 300-

 The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board has released the results of the 2012 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, with only three candidates scoring above 300.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the results of 27,266 candidates across eight states were withheld for various reasons.

This was stated by JAMB Registrar/Chief Executive, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, at a news conference in Abuja.

A total of 1,503,931 candidates were registered for the 2012 UTME, which held across the country on March 24, making it the one with the highest number of registered candidates since the existence of JAMB.

Contrary to earlier fears that the Boko Haram sect would disrupt the exam in some Northern states, Ojerinde, said the State Security Service and other security agencies had been engaged to deal with any security threat.

The exam proceeded on the set date without any security problem.

At the news conference, Ojerinde, the JAMB Registrar, listed Abia, Benue, Cross River, Delta, Imo, Lagos, Nasarawa and Rivers as the affected states, due to malpractice such as extortion of money by some examination officials.

“In 2012 UTME, we had some disturbing news of extortion of money from innocent candidates by greedy proprietors and supervisors all these persons will be brought to book,” he said, adding that the outcome of investigation would determine if more results would be released..

Ojerinde said 72, 243 scored 250 and above while 336,330 scored below 170.

He said 374,920 candidates scored between 170 and above, 601,151 candidates scored between 200 and 249 while 901 scored between 270 and 299.

“In 2010, 96,451 results were recorded invalid, while in 2011, the figure reduced drastically to 28,069, due to sensitisation on 2011 UTME.

“For the 2012 UTME, the number was drastically reduced to 5,161; the board will continue to work to ensure that the incidence of incomplete and invalid results is totally wiped out,” he stated.

Ojerinde said that Imo had the highest number of applicants with 123,865 candidates; Delta came second with 88,876 candidates while Anambra placed third with 84,204 candidates.

Conversely, FCT recorded the lowest number with 3,380 candidates, Sokoto placed next with 5, 664 candidates while 5,713 candidates sat from Zamfara.

He said the University of Lagos recorded the highest applicants with 83,865 candidates; Nnamdi Azikiwe University came second with 82,148 candidates while University of Benin came third with 80,048 candidates.

He said arrangement had been made for candidates to check their results online using JAMB web site, www.myjambonline.com, and using the scratch card used earlier for registration.

My name is Ori Adeyemo, I have been into Forensic Accounting Consultancy since 1997, but I got into it full time and professionally in 2006.  I am aware that the financial institution in Nigeria is full of fraud. Even the Capital market,
Insurance and other institutions are laced with fraud. But what really catches
my fancy is the banking industry and that’s what affects most Nigerians and
there’s nobody or an individual that at one point or the other has not go to do
with the banking industry. It’s basically the people that made me focus more on
the banking industry and more especially when we have a country with a
depressed economy like Nigeria.
 
Apart from the common Nigerians, what propels you in the profession?

I am aware some sort of people called the Cabal are making so much money from the savings of
the customers and they call it profit while the customers are dying one by one, which was what prompted my investigations to know why the customers’ companies are dying

 Award winning nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha is a fine girl anytime ,anyday. I remember the first time I saw her at a restaurant on Raymond Njoku street,Ikoyi. It was at the media screening of a film produced by former Nigeria's goalkeeper, Emmanuel Babayaro (elder brother of Celestine Babayaro).
Chioma played a major role in the movie.At that time,not much was known about her but some of us who saw the movie knew that it was only a matter of time, Chioma would go far in the movie industry.
