Style is not stagnant.it is what you make out of it that matters.Nike Ogunlesi, the beautiful and ever stylish
founder of Ruff 'n' Tumble told gistmaster.com and others at a press conference held at her GRA Ikeja, Lagos office recently.
"You can re-write your own rules as fashion is concerned" Ogunlesi said with confidence.
Mrs. Ogunlesi made the statement while announcing that her children clothing company
has just introduced the Naijaboyz collection. According to her ,for about 10 years, ruff 'n' Tumble has been
at the pinnacle of high quality children clothings and they just know what the kids want.
Contrary to speculations, Ogunlesi told us that the wears are affordable. They are hip and made with
100 per cent cotton. Prices start from N1,950.We also have the ethnic collection. These are clothes made from adire and ankara. We make it in such a way that its rich with colours and that urban look is not missing.
Ogunlesi said , the company pay a lot of attention to detail and "we are proudly naija"
What we do here is quality and attention to details. We source high quality materials and make it to finished
products that we are proud of at all times. We put our label with a proudly naija tune to it.
When reminded that the minister of Information, Professor Dora Akuiyili just announced that corporate
organisations should stop the use of the word 'Naija' instead of Nigeria, she disclosed that
if calling it 'naija' is the way young people are going to take ownership of their country then let them be. Let them build the country and take ownership.People call UK, jand and US, 'yankee'. That did not change the way people see those countries around the world. It is just an expression of excitement and for me, i don't think it matters, Ogunlesi said.
As ways of expanding her business,Mrs. Ogunlesi has opened a new outlet in Surulere on 20 November 2010. Another Ruff 'n' Tumble' would be opened in December in Port Harcourt.
