  Access Bank said yesterday at a press conference that it is sponsoring Nickelodeon's Dora the explorer to introduce a new vista in retail banking in Nigeria.

  Mr. Obinna Nwosu, Access Bank Nigeria Plc director of Retail Banking division said they are making Access Bank more receptive and attractive to young savers.
"It would give Access Bank the opportunity to reach out to schools so that we can teach financial responsibility" Nwosu said.

 Nwosu disclosed that before now, there have been various packages for young savers but we saw that there is a need to close a vacuum- we introduced financial responsibility as part of the package, we created a product that would teach kids the virtues of discipline, honesty, entrepreneurial drive. We want to teach them how money and managed right from young age.
 Nwsosu said Access Bank would visit schools to promote the young savers products with goodies and there won't be segregation the schools-it would be for private and public schools.
UPCOMING EVENT
On September 23 and 24, 2011, Access Bank and Nickeledeon will bring Dora the explorer and her best friend Boot to Nigeria for the first time. Event is schedule to hold at Federal Palace Hotel,Lagos.
  THE SPONSORSHIP DEAL-Sources told gistmaster.com that the Nickelodeon's Dora the explorer deal took several months before it was finally clinched by Access Bank. We gathered that talks and contacts were also made with GTBank, Fidelity Bank but Access Bank bought into it. Ifeoma Williams, a lawyer and consultant with MTV Base, we gathered worked tirelessly on the project until the deal was signed. The amount involved in the sponsorship was however not revealed.
Cynthia Mbanefo anchored the event. The rising profile of the MTV BASE/VJ winner seems to be on the rise.

THE MEDIA LAUNCH- The media launch was well attended by top media personalities,top staff of both Access bank and MTV Base Nigeria. The press conference was held inside the Marquee of Federal Palace Hotel located on Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos. Alex Okosi, the Vice President MTV Africa networks received guests on behalf of the organizers. He was beaming with smiles like someone who has won a 10 million dollar lottery. Getting Access Bank to partner with Nickelodeon is sure a great feat!
