DEPOSED DEJI OF AKURE BREAKS SILENCE:”MY ESTRANGED WIFE IS AN ALDULTERER”

By Niyi Tabiti

The deposed and banished traditional ruler of Akure town,Ondo State,Oba Oludare Adepoju Adesina has finally broken his silence over what led to the public fight he had with his estranged wife,Bolanle. According to Adeshina, Bolanle left the palace about nine months ago because she was engaging in adultery. “I got know that she was engaging in adultery. You know as a Deji of Akure, if i don’t get to know this physically, there are traditional means” he said.

Adesina also alleged that Olori Bolanle was going to collecting money from state governors and other top government functionaries using his name as a means of getting through. This really angered him and had to take the matter up with Bolanle. The deposed Oba who is expected in court any moment from now also said the report of the fight was blown out of proportion by the press.

It would be recalled that Deji of Akure, Oba Adesina stormed the residence of his estranged wife, Bolanle with his new wife, Remi Abiola (a former wife of Bashorun MKO Abiola) and some people suspected to be hoodlums.Bolanle was reportedly manhandled by the Oba and his entouraged. Some people who thought that the traditional ruler and his entourage were too brutal on the woman came to her defense.

The Deji’s vehicle was damaged and he was manhandled. He was also said to have been manhandled to the point that his traditional beads were picked on the floor. He also reportedly poured some substances suspected to be acid on his estranged wife.

The traditional ruler was widely condemned for bringing the traditional institution to public ridicule. The Ondo State Government led by Governor Olusegun Mimiko also condemned the act of the ruler.Mimiko also deposed and banished the ruler to Owo, the home town of the estranged wife.

“X-FELLAZ” WINS MALTA GUINNESS STREET DANCE AFRICA SEASON III

High expectation and anticipation, the deer feel for water after savouring a delicious meal, to quench its thirst, was exactly the type one could use to describe the mood that pervaded at the final of the Malta Guinness Street Dance Africa Championship.
Prior to the finals, ‘WATCH IT’, ‘MARKSMEN’, ‘SONS OF LIBERTY’ and ‘SOULJA GUYS’ got eliminated while ‘X-FELLAZ’, ‘FLAMES INSPIRED’, ‘LEGACY’, and ‘EYES6ONE’ made it to the final.

A distinctive feature of this year’s MGSDA was that all eight crews drawn from the four regions were put in a booth camp where they were groomed by professional dance trainers as well as given different tasks and challenges to perform as the competition progressed.
The National Final was formatted in such a way that two rounds were organized for all four dance crews. The first round saw dance crews performing with music entertainers, while the second round saw the dance crews performing their regular routines. The scores from both rounds were added up to determine the Champion of the MGSDA III, who must have amassed more points than others.
The stage was set for the long awaited finals as the trio judges of FRANK, KAFFY and the Chief judge WALE RUBBER were ushered in by the MC impresario, Deji Falope, who wished to further bolster the judges decisions, and went on to introduce   “MAY 7” a Nigerian UK based female dancer and dance instructor who happened to be the only female dancer in a dance group of twenty.
The Final showdown kicked off with “EYE6ONE” performing with “MO CHEDDAH”, using the sound track “KOMA ROLL” as they thrilled the audience, exuding energy that synchronized very well with their expression. However, their performance was faulted on the ground of poor ‘popping’ that was seen to be too draggy, which showed some technical flaws. “Generally it was a good performance even though there were some rough edges” May 7 said.
Next to perform on stage after “EYE6ONE was “FLAMES INSPIRED” performing with “DJ ZEEZ” with the popular hit track “FOKA SIBE”. It was a mind blowing performance as the introduction of “DJ ZEEZ” on stage was too apt and thrilling, the audience could not but scream with a great deal of ecstasy. “You guys are very fast and smart because you paid attention to the co-ordination of the synergy between the dance and the music” Kaffy said. The performance of “FLAMES INSPIRED” could be felt by all as they succeeded in using “DJ ZEEZ” to the sheer satisfaction of the judges as their performance was described by the judges as awesome, brilliant and adjudged to be simply flawless.
The bar was obviously raised during the performance of “FLAMES INSPIRED” but whether this could be surpassed was the question in the minds of the audience as “X-FELLAZ” stormed the stage to perform with “KLEVER JAY” a.k.a “KONI KONI MASTER” as they performed to his popular hit track “IGBORO TI DARU”.
They however did not disappoint their fans as they succeeded in raising the bar even higher than expected. This they did by displaying a high level of technical dexterity,   coupled with a well formed pyramid from the stage floor to the roof of the venue, it was indeed awesome. After they performed, May 7 was forced to say that she was speechless and that she was blown away by their performance.
“LEGACY” was last to perform in the first round as they performed with the “ ROOF TOP MC’S” thrilling with the popular “LAGIMO” track amongst others  which saw their performance having too much in just one piece. It was in this same light that Kaffy harped on saying “I feel the transition you created did not really jell for us to see the life in your performance.
The second round commenced with “EYE6ONE” performing. They performed to the best of their ability as opined by one of the judges but were faulted on flat beginning that went through till the end of their performance. “Never toil with the soul of the music because it is the vessel your dance rides on”. This was the comment Kaffy made by telling “EYE6ONE” that they had dangerous stunts but the music was not carrying that kind of performance they exhibited.
A Major contender of the MGSDA III diadem, “FLAMES INSPIRED” came on stage again to surpass their previous performance and this they did using the basket ball as their major crump as they dunked and slammed the judges of their feet with exceeding mind wowing performance.
“X-FELLAZ” had the last chance to create an impression on the minds of the judges that they deserve to be crowned champions of the MGDSA III as they came on stage for the last time to perform. They performed with precision, straight to the point and entertained in all aspects. It was a great performance laced with zeal of wanting to win. After they finished, Wale said “this is a street dance performance”.
Lastly for the second round performance “LEGACY”, who were very daring in all aspects, raised the bar in their performance by challenging themselves one more time. They were so systematic in the way they finished each move that led  them straight to the next one without actually faulting it. This, FRANK could not contain but to say “UNA TOO GBASKY”.
After the crews were done with their last performances and were awaiting the results, the MGSDA Season II Champions, “STREETHOOD” came and presented before the crowd an exit performance, while the judges were busy with the task of determining who the winner would be.
At the end of the exit performance by “STREETHOOD”, the Chief Judge of the MGSDA Season III, WALE RUBBER presented the result of this years’ MGDSA III Winner to Deji Falope.
After a heart thumping wait for the results, “ X-FELLAZ” two times runner up of the Malta Guinness Street Dance Africa Competition emerged champions of this years’ competition  while “FLAMES INSPIRED”, “LEGACY”, and “ EYE6ONE” came behind in that order.
To this end, “X-FELLAZ” as Dance Champions of Nigeria will be representing Nigeria in the Pan Africa Dance final that will be coming up in "on">Ghana later in the year.
The grand finale was a spectacle to behold as lots of creativity, thrills and fun fare were exhibited by the crews who put up extreme ‘Top of the World’ performance which made the Malta Guinness Street Dance Africa III Competition an event full of fun and goodness for every one.

FOUR CREWS JOURNEYS TO THE MALTA GUINNESS STREET DANCE AFRICA SEASON III (NATIONAL FINALS)

After weeks of intense contest amongst the eight street dance crews at the Malta Guinness Street Dance Competition, the race to clinch the top spot of the Malta Guinness Street Dance Africa championship can not be any competitive than what it is. At this stage of the competition, the eight crews gave a good account of themselves, putting up a highly creative and energy sapping choreographic dance steps in order to get the nod of the judges, to advance to the final of the Malta Guinness Street Dance Competition, which has changed the face of reality dance competition on TV in Nigeria. .
During the weeks at the booth camp, all the remaining  eight crews were made to go through rigorous dance routines and different challenges, where the judges scored all crews based on the best execution of the tasks given to them week in week out..
At the end of this highly creative segment of the competition, the eight crews, namely, “FLAMES INSPIRED”, “X-FELLAZ”, “EYE SIX ONE”, “SOULJA GUYZ”, “LEGACY”, “WATCH IT”, “MARKSMEN” and “SONS OF LIBERTY” exhibited exemplary dance steps, which attracted commendation from the judges
However, after collating the crews’ points by the judges, based on their decisions made  during the course of executing their weekly tasks, coupled with the votes by the audience and viewers at home through SMS, only three crews, namely “FLAMES INSPIRED”, X-FELAZ and ‘EYE SIX ONE” were able to gather enough points to get automatic qualification to participate at the National Finals, leaving “SOULJA GUYZ”, “LEGACY”,“WATCH  IT”, “MARKSMEN” and “SONS OF LIBERTY” with no choice but to battle for the only one slot left to get the opportunity of contesting at the National Final and eventually be crowned as Nigeria’s MGSDA III champion.
This round of performances made the judges witness superb movements that made Wale the chief judge to say “it’s been awesome performances”
The five embattled crews gave their best performances, the final decision rested entirely on the judges to announce the best crew among the five crews that competed keenly for the last slot to determine who will finally join the other three crews in the National Final.
After all dancing criteria were brought afore, “SOULJA GUYZ”, “WATCH IT “MARKSMEN” and “SONS OF LIBERTY” were evicted as they could not impress the judges with their performances.
“LEGACY” was adjudged the best crew among the five crews that slugged it out for the last slot to join the already confirmed three crews (FLAMES INSPIRED, X-FELLAZ, EYE SIX ONE) for the National Final. “LEGACY” performance was so impressive that it equally attracted impressive comments, from the judges. Kaffy could not but comment that “execution of movement is equally as important as thinking about it”
It is going to be a unique final as each of the four crews that will be gunning for the national final will be expected to perform with one Nigerian music entertainer.

REPORTER’s DIARY:QUEENS OF NOLLYWOOD

  By Niyi Tabiti

When I got this beautiful cover of Genevieve Magazine, I was very excited that our actresses are looking beyond their "make believe job"- A lot of them are giving so much to looking good.I was not surprise when I saw the names that made the cover. Genevieve Nnaji, Ini Edo, Kate Henshaw Nuttal and Rita Dominic are all epitome of glamour and beauty.
That doesnt mean that is all Nollywood can get. Younger actresses like Ebube Nwangbo, Rukky Sanda, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe and others are head turners too.
Kate Henshaw, who is the oldest amongst the actresses  gives attention to details. I remember some months back when I took a visiting German journalist to Kate Henshaw for an interview, the guy look at Kate and while guessing her age, he said Kate couldn't have been more than 25 or 26!!!Ofcourse, Kate herself laughed. It was all a compliment anyway, though she is in her late 30s, she look ravishing.I have photographed her several times and the result has always been wonderful.
Genevieve Nnaji- She is obviously the most talked about actress in Nigeria movie industry today.Genevieve has a gift of heavenly beauty.Aside her looks, the truth must be told, Genevieve is a good actress. She interprets her role well and that is why she is the first choice of movie buyers. Many people don't like her "I am larger than life attitude" but they can't resist photos on the cover of  a magazine.I have quite a number of her photographs, which i took at different functions in my collections.
Ini Edo Ehigwina- She is Nigeria's most controversial actress (though our dear friend,Mercy Johnson is dragging that position with her).Like her or hate her, she s deliciously sexy and an embodiment of beauty. She has curves and just anything she wears would bring out her figure 8.No other actress has earned so much knocks or has rumour peddled about her than the Akwa Ibom state born star. She like exotic wines and she shark them well.
I have photographed Ini Edo too at various times, both within and outside Lagos. The result has always been wondrous.Ini Edo sometimes get it wrong in her dressing (according to the verdicts of our readers).
Rita Dominic: Rita is ever stunning. Just when you think that  a star of her status should be soaked in ornament, she comes out simple. She does her calculation well and that is why she keeps winning our heart. She is smoking hot with elegance. For now, she is still the reigning queen of fashion in Nollywood based on her appearance.I have photographed Rita too and i know that she would make the cover of any beautiful magazine like this!!!

Data Okorodudu made so much sense by making these top Nollywood girls look like any "marketable" superstar that one would find in Hollywood. Lets also thank Mrs.Betty Irabor, the founder of Genevieve Magazine for raising the standard with this cover.
