ABIKE DABIRI,FUNKE AKINDELE, 9ICE OTHERS GRACE NOTHINGHILL CARNIVAL 2010

 Just when many thought Gongo Aso exponent, 9ice is gradually fading off the scene in Nigeria, the good part of his performance 'resurrected' again in London, UK  at this year's Nottinghill Carnival.

 9ice was nice all through as he gave his best to the Nigerian crowd at Adela Street, W10 near Notthinghill Gate.Other top Nigerian celebrities also stepped out to show off the enjoyment tradition of the country. 

  Celebs such as TEE A,Julius Agwu, Teju Baby Face,Kunle Afolayan,Banky W, Funke Akindele and others were all there. Dj Jimmy Jatt and DJ Abass were on the wheel on steel and they didnt in any way disappointed the large flow of Nigerians at the Nottinghill Carnival 2010.

  Top Broadcaster, Bisi Olatilo of the famous Bisi Olatilo Show and House of Representatives member, Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa were also there to enjoy the carnival and encourage Nigerians on how to be good ambassadors of their country.
 The Nigerian corner, gistmaster gathered was facilitated by Kennis Music and First Bank of Nigeria Plc.
 She baby was also at the event but she couldn't perform because of time.The Nigerian corner was closed at 7 PM and the train moved to Moonlighting Club for the after party. Trust naija people, they  'digged' the dance floor till the next morning.

DEATH RUMOUR:MR. FUJI, DR. SIKIRU AYINDE BARRISTER IS ALIVE

Close aides of Nigeria’s versatile Fuji musician, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister popularly known as Barry Wonder. Rumour of the musician’s death spread wild fire all over the place, causing his fans all over the world to panic. But in a swift reaction, on Monday 30 August 2010, close aides and friend’s of Mr. Fuji as Barrister is popularly called, described the artiste’s death as unfounded, mischievous and false in its entirety.

 Sources told Gistmaster.com that the star musician is recuperating in a top hospital somewhere in Europe.

 “Though he has some health challenges but he is responding to treatments in Germany. I assure you that he would be back home as soon as his doctors give him the go ahead” The source told gistmaster.com

It would be recalled that the fuji music icon also returned from a trip to India in May for medical reasons.

BHARTI AIRTEL, MTV BASE PRESS LAUNCH FOR MAMA 2010

Bharti Airtel, the international telecom company that bought controlling shares in Zain Nigeria has announced its readiness to be part of MTV music Awards,popularly known as MAMA as the main sponsor. Last week in Lagos, it was a full house at Bar Royale as top officials of the company and top executives of MTV BASE in Nigeria led by Alex Okosi converged for the media launch of the event in Nigeria.

The two companies announced that the event would be taking place in Lagos Nigeria at the expo Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island Lagos this December. Sources told gistmaster.com that the Bharti Airtel the title sponsors of MAMA are excited that they would also be using the event as one of the platforms to announce its arrival in Nigeria.There were speculations that the award was earlier planned to hold in South Africa but since Airtel is not in South Africa they reasoned that it would be a wasted effort to sponsor it in that country. So Lagos is just perfect. The first MAMA took place in Abuja, Nigeria while the last one was held in Kenya. This time, its Lagos!.

The date for the Elite Model Look has been changed. This glam annual event would now take place on the 12th of September @ the prestigious Civic Center on Ozumba Mbadiwe in Lagos.

Also, one time top celebrity fashion designer - Maria Odunsi of MYA , would be staging a strong comeback at the EMLN 2010 event. It can be recalled that Maria aka MYA is the winner of the 2003 fashion designer of the year award. Her designs sit in a class of their own when it comes to stunning classic casuals to red carpet details. She had in the past created head turing outfits for many top celebs like Nike Oshinowo and non celebs like (Us-lol )alike. She left the Nigeria fashion scene a while back, leaving in her trails fabulous memories of mind blowing and timeless apparels. Now the MYA brand is BACK and trust me, we will be taking the front row seats to see what her FAB new comeback collection will look like.

ULTIMA STUDIO INFERNO:MTN SAYS PROJECT FAME CONTINUES

 Aftermath of a mystery fire that engulfed the multi million Naira worth studio and equipments of Ultima studios,MTN the title sponsor of Project Fame music reality show says there is no cause for alarm as neccessary things would be put in place to ensure that the recordings of the show would go on as planned.

Ultima Studios is also used by MTN for the recording of Who Wants to be a millionaire handled by Frank Edohor.

 A fire outbreak after the recording of Who wants to be a millionaire last Sunday at Ultima Studio engulfed the whole place but no one was hurt in the process. A statement issued by Sodium Media on behalf of the company states that everything is under control.

Ultima CEO, Femi Ayeni, told reporters on the site, Sunday, “although
the incident is catastrophic and the loss shattering, we’re grateful
to God that no lives were lost. The contestants are safe and we are
confident that the show will go on, and in no time at all we will be
back on air so keep watching.”

Early visitors to the site included MTN’s GM Consumer Marketing, Kola
Oyeyemi. MTN, Nigeria’s largest telecoms company, is the sole sponsor
for WWTBAM and the title sponsors for Project Fame.  “This is a
monumental disaster. We can’t even begin to comprehend the personal,
emotional and material loss. But in all we thank God that no lives
were lost. MTN is committed to enriching lives through our different
services, properties and initiatives and we are already discussing
with our partners at Ultima on how to make sure this tragedy does not
distract us”.

Ultima is determined to take this incident in its stride and plans are
on to return to full and enhanced production of WWTBAM and PFWA

MEXICAN BEAUTY GRABS MISS UNIVERSE 2010 CROWN

For  22-year-old Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete, last night was a moment she would never forget in her life as she was crowned the Miss Universe 2010 inside the posh Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas,USA.

 Jimena made it to the top after competing with other bevy of ladies from all over the world.Reports indicate that this year's contest brought together some of the most endowed ladies one could ever see under a roof. Ngozi Odalonu,the Nigeria representative at the Miss Universe could not do the 'Agbani magic' (Agbani is a Nigerian model and former miss world) but she tried her best.

24 year old Yendi Phillips (Miss Jamaica) was the first runner up at the 2010 Miss Universe contest. Miss USA,Rima Fakih was eliminated much earlier in the contest.Jenista Campbell from Australia was the second runner up.
