I AM NOT DESPERATE FOR ANYTHING IN LIFE -DELE MOMODU

By Niyi Tabiti

Presidential aspirant and publisher of Ovation International, Chief Dele Momodu says he is not ready for politics of bitterness. He made this known in a phone interview with Gistmaster.com at the weekend. Momodu, who was responding to comments made by some people against him for attending the wedding party of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar 's wedding.

We don't have to play politics the way it the way it was done in then past, he said noting that that there was nothing absolutely wrong with him attending the wedding of another aspirant's daughter. He also said that he is ready for public debate with other aspirants .

I have been to prison for Nigeria, I have been to exile for Nigeria. I have a lot of friends who are governors in this country but I  don't do government contract.I learn a lot in life from Chief MKO Abiola. He wouldn't have won if he had not been in touch with everybody.

Some people need to move forward in their thinking, he noted just as he told gistmaster.com that he laughed when he read a comment from someone who said that he shouldn't have attended a charity event By General TY Danjuma in Abuja.

"President Goodluck Jonathan was there and i was the other known aspirant and someone comment on Facebook i shouldn't have been there.Imagine?" he asked rhetorically.

Momodu, who is seeking elective position into the office of President of Nigeria come 2011 under the platform of Labour Party  also said that he is not desperate for anything in life. People even think that I am a billionaire but I am not.

On the issue of  zoning, the founder of Ovation International magazine  said Zoning is for PDP not for Nigeria. "Do you know that 80 per cent of Nigeria electorates don't belong to any political party"

Whether or not Nigerians would be able to vote for him since a Yoruba man ruled Nigeria for 8 years, Bob Dee as he is fondly called said his Dad is from South South while his mom is from Yorubaland but he affirmed that Nigerians want a true leader who can take them to the promised land rather than a leader based on religion or tribal sentiment.
