FUNKE AKINDELE BAG OF SURPRISES IN RETURN OF JENNIFER
Actress and Glo Ambassador, Funke Akindele has lots of surprises up her
sleeves for her highly anticipated movie, The Return of Jenifa (TROJ).
One of the many surprises is the fact that the actress will be flaunting her
dance style, a side many didn’t know she has. Her dance choreographer on set
was famous dancer and dance instructor, Kaffy.
TROJ will be released in August and will be in cinema from August 26
courtesy Nigeria’s number one movie distributor, Blue Pictures.
According to the actress’s publicist, Bigsam Media, TROJ will exceed
whatever record ‘Jenifa’ set. ‘We have it on record that Jenifa sold over
eight million copies which exclude the pirated copies taken abroad and we
believe TROJ will overtake that record and set another one. The kind of
effort that was put into the production of the movie is unequal. The DOP, DJ
Tee, cast and crew, budget, and standard applied have not been seen in
recent times. Asides all these, the storyline is refreshing and different.
This is one movie that will break cinema record and set a new one’.
The cast for the movie include Funke Akindele, Banky W, Kaffy, Eldee,
Freeze, Eniola Badmus, Yinka Quadri, Whizkid, Antar Olaniyan, Mercy Aigbe,
Ronke Oshodi Oke, Denrele Edun, CD John, Helen Paul, Naeto C, DJ Zeez and
many others. Video link

NAIJA COMEDIAN BASKET MOUTH DENIES FALSE REPORT AS LAFF AND JAM RETURNS
Contrary to ongoing report that one of Nigeria’s finest comedians, Bright Okpocha, aka, Basketmouth slapped a fan, true story has that the incident was reported out of context. According to a reliable insider and an eye witness, the said incident was highly reported out of context.
The incident which happened about a year ago in a night club, Ecstasy Land, in Abuja was a minor misunderstanding which according to an eye witness was blown out of proportion. “I was there and I can boldly tell you that what was reported in that story is false and targeted at Basketmouth’s image. Whoever wrote that story has a different reason. The incident was surely blown out of context” he said
In a telephone conversation with the comedian, he confirmed the incident. According to him he did not slap anyone. It was a minor misunderstanding which unfortunately degenerated into a minor argument. The incident, he said happened a while back and I am surprised that someone will reawaken an already buried and settled issue.
Said he “I was in company of some of my colleagues after we had attended a show organized by Charley Boy. It happened that it was the same day AY was having his show in Abuja. I couldn’t make the show so I decided to go for the after party which held at a club (Ecstasy Land) in Abuja. While at the VIP section, a gentleman or so I thought, walked up to me requesting to take some shots (pictures) with me. I obliged him. He took three shots after which I politely told him that I think that was enough. He agreed and left. He came back and asked to take another one, I guess maybe the initials shots he had were not satisfactory”
“At this point I really was not comfortable anymore but to avoid any insinuations I obliged him. A while later I was surprised to see the same guy walk up to me still asking to take more pictures. At this point I told him, that was going to be last because, truth be told, it was becoming unbearable. I allowed the last shot.
To my greatest surprise, while still in the VIP section, I overheard a friend of his expressing his willingness to take some pictures with me. This same guy that has already taking five snap shots told his friend not to bother because according to him, he has tried but Basketmouth seem to be full of ego and as such I will not allow it.
I really did not like the impression he was trying to give people about me so I walked up to him and asked him politely why he was telling such lies. Rather than be a gentle man, he shoved me aside telling to leave.
That was so ungentlemanly. While still trying to see reasons with him, he continued his irrational behavior and before you know it the situation degenerated into a bit of fisticuffs. Apparently, he was drunk because while the altercation continued, he was reeking of alcohol”
The incident, Okpocha said was settled that same night and according to him, he cannot understand why it resurfaced again. “After the incident, the bouncers came and removed the guy from the club. He later came back in but nothing dramatic happened after then. The case was settled and both parties went their separate ways. i wasn't happy about the whole incident and promised myself such will never repeat itself anymore”
However in another development the comedian has finally yielded calls from his numerous fans to bring back his comedy show, Laffs and Jams. The show which was a huge success while it held was put to rest by the comedian due to lack of finance. “I had to rest the show because I was basically funding it with my money. You will agree with me that that is not easy. As much as the people liked it then and they kept coming religiously, it was so painful that I had to rest it”. So if there is no money why is he bringing it back?
“Everywhere I go, most people ask me what happened to the show. To as many I could be honest with I told them it was fund and for those I couldn’t tell the truth, I basically said logistics. However the clamor for the show’s comeback has been massive and I think I am ready to take the risk again but this time hoping that we will get sponsors along the line.
If you can remember, the show was a huge success even up to the last edition but the burden was too much for me to bear. But now it is coming back with anew flare, fun and razzmatazz. We are coming back full blast and I promise this is one show that will blow everyone’s mind.
He added that his “aim is to ensure that I give my numerous fans, the best of comedy, in a relaxed atmosphere and value for money. Laffs and Jams is one show that gives everyone, irrespective of their age difference, the opportunity to leave the comfort of their home and take some time off to laugh and above everything else, have fun” he concluded.

Thou Shalt Not.........the 10 WEAVE COMMANDMENTS
Whether you wear a weave to add a few lines to give your mane some body , as a protective style, or to simply change up your look—here’s what every weave-wearing woman should live by.
-Thou shall not let thy tracks be visible. You might as well leave the house with a pack of Remy 1B 14-inch in your hand. If you’re unable to properly conceal your weave, just skip it all together.
-Thou shall not wear a shiny weave. A quality weave will have a natural luster to it. There is no need to weigh it down with tons of product. This will only make it look fake. The more lightness and bounce your weave has, the more authentic it will look and feel.
-Thou shall blend. There’s nothing worse than a weave with conflicting textures. If you’re unable to manipulate your true texture to mimic that of your weave, then you should get a weave that replicates your true strands.
-Thou shall have thy tracks sewn on securely. Over time, tracks will loosen as you style your weave. But there’s no reason for them to be hanging on for dear life by a single strand of weaving thread after one week of wear.
-Thou shall not leave the salon in discomfort. I’ve witnessed too many women leaving the salon with a headache because their tracks were sewn on too tight. Not only is it painful, but it also puts you at risk of traction alopecia.
-Thou shall not become attached to thy weave. We’re not talking about having a styling preference. We’re talking about feeling that you need a weave to be attractive. At the end of the day, beauty exudes from the inside. Your weave should be an accessory not a mask for your insecurity.
-Thou shall use the proper products for maintenance. Each weave has different needs. A curly weave might require a leave-in conditioner to reduce frizz, while a straight one might call for a lightweight moisturizer, or nothing at all. It varies, so do your research.
-Thou shall care for thy weave as if it were thy real hair. Maximize the life of your weave by properly protecting it at night, avoiding over-processing with heat, and cleansing it regularly. Consult your hairstylist about how often you should shampoo and condition your extensions.
-Thou shall protect thy edges and scalp. We’ve all seen the photos of Naomi floating around the web. Ladies, this doesn’t have to be your fate! Massage an oil, such as olive or jojoba oil, infused with a stimulating herb, like rosemary, along your edges, nape, and scalp, to prevent breakage.
-Thou shall not wear a weave beyond its expiration date. It’s recommended that you keep your extensions in for 6 to 8 weeks. Any longer than that can lead to matting (of your actual hair) and result in hair loss.

PREMIERE: FIRST FILM PRODUCED BY MONALISA CHINDA HITS THE CINEMA AMIDST FANFARE ON JUNE 19
It is another combination of beauty and brains as Nollywood screen diva Monalisa Chinda and wave making actor Joseph Benjamin put together stellar performances in another romantic comedy flick from the Royal Arts Academy titled ‘Kiss and Tell’.
Starring Desmond Elliot, Monalisa Chinda, Nse Ikpe-Etim Uche Jombo, Joseph Benjamin, Bhaira Mcwizu, Darlene Benson and others, ‘Kiss and Tell’ is set to be premiered on June 19, at the Silverbird Galleria in Lagos. As we have been informed, the classy premiere is to start by 4pm with a red carpet event and the premiere proper by 6pm.
The highly humorous movie ‘Kiss and Tell’ is set to crack the toughest ribs and it has Monalisa Chinda as the executive producer and one of the best in the field Emem Isong as the producer.
Iyke, the ultimate player, is best of friends with Bernard, except when it comes to Blue Quest, the firm they run together. When Delphine, a gorgeous divorcee who has sworn off men, walks into Iykes’s life, he makes a wager with his friend to sleep with her in ten days or sell his controlling shares in the company. What Iyke didn’t bargain for was falling for his Prey.
Iyke (Joseph Benjamin), the ultimate player in the game of women runs Blue Quest with his friend Bernard (Desmond Elliot); their friendship however does not apply to their coy. Iyke, who prides himself as the ultimate player per excellence however met his match perhaps more than he bargain for in Delphine (Monalisa Chinda), a divorce lawyer who is a divorcee herself. Iyke is about to lose a bet, a controlling shares of Blue Quest. He has to win or lose all.
Emem Isong speaking on the movie said, ‘it is a classy movie one that you watch and feel good about. We exercised a lot of caution in producing the movie so that the touch of class can be maintained. The script has a detailed touch of wit and humour and the director Desmond Eliot ensured that the cast brought the script to life. It took a lot of hard work to put the movie together but comments that we have gotten so far since the trailer has been released has made it all worth it’.
Tongues are however wagging that Monalisa might be telling her messy divorce story in the compelling flick. ‘Let me leave that to people who know me to judge’ she said in a release by Royal Arts reps, Bigsam Media.
Kiss and Tell will be in cinemas in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt and other parts of the country from July 18.
