This was officially announced by Omoyemi Akerele, the Creative Director of Style House Files, promoters of the event. The  fashion week is slated to hold in October this year.

At a press conference held this afternoon at Villa Medici, Victoria Island, Lagos, Mrs Akerele disclosed that the event would raise the bar in the fashion and style sector.

Omoyemi said it would promote and celebrate those who are making valuable contributions to the style industry. The Young designer of the year  award winner would go home with an Hyundai Car worth #4.5 million while young fashion entrepreneur of the year would also go home with #1 million Naira cash. Cherry Eromosele, a senior manager with MTN in her short speech to the press, said MTN is not just in the business of providing their customers with reliable telecom experience, but they seek different avenues to impact on their lives positively.

" We talk to our customers from different segments, age brackets and what they are passionate about and we note that one of such is fashion" , Eromosele said. She disclosed the reason why MTN is supporting the Lagos Fashion and design week is to make invaluable contributions to the industry.

DAREY ISSUES DISCLAIMER ON FASHION ON THE RUNWAY ORGANISERS

[caption id="attachment_6056" align="alignleft" width="480" caption="Darey"][/caption]

By Niyi Tabiti

One of Nigeria's leading entertainers,Dare Art Alade who goes by the stage name, Darey has slammed the organizers of the fashion meets runway event in Lagos.

According to him, he has not been contracted for the show but the organizers are making benefits for his hard earned name in their publicity. Already, Darey said his Layers are looking into the matter and have also contacted the organizers.

But when contacted, Bukky George Taylor of Bobby Taylor consulting, the publicist for the Fashion Meets Runway, told gistmaster.com they have not received a letter from any lawyer.

She also said, " Darey was initially meant to be the official host but we later change it to Banky W. Darey was not flexible with the payment terms. We couldn't have an understanding with his team. At that time, the first set of press releases had already gone out"

The CEO of Bobby Taylor assured us that they would apologized to Darey for the mixup.

Here is content of the disclaimer statement issued by Darey Art Alade today

"Our attention has been drawn to newspaper and internet news

publications, advertising our client Darey as one of the lead
performers at a fashion show holding in Lagos next week.

While there were early talks on the possibility of having Darey host
the show, we wish to state clearly that HE HAS NOT BEEN CONTRACTED to
host or perform at this event.

We do not only find news reports and releases from the organisers
mischievous; but also misleading and unprofessional. And we'd like the
general public to know that Darey is not in anyway, directly or
remotely involved with this event.

Our Lawyers are already in touch with them, hoping they will correct
this misinformation, with the clear stand that if this is not done, we
will be willing to pursue legal means available to us.

Again, please kindly note that Darey fans should not expect to see him
at this show as he has not been contracted to host or perform,
contrary to what the organizers are communicating"

The R&B King, fresh from the UK where he released his first
international single on June 19, is currently rounding up work on his
UK album, as well as a special album for the Nigerian market

D BANJ RANKS BEST DRESSED in - Christian Louboutin Mika Raja Spring/Summer 2011 Flats

D  Banj stepped out in style at the recently held 2011 BET Awards styled in a pair of Christian Louboutin Mika Raja flats ($2,395) from the Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.
Such attention to detail! His pants look like they were crafted out of some Italian nonna's tablecloth. And those aren't ruffles on his shirt—they're tasseled beads.

He was ranked best dressed by Jezebel

Five Products You Should Borrow From Your Boyfriend or Brother

We’ve borrowed everything from blazers and jeans to oversized tees from the boys. Now we’re raiding their bathroom cabinets for beauty, ahem, we mean “grooming” products! Here are 5 must-try male products we swear by:

After Shave. Whether it’s on their beard or bikini line, both men and women battle razor bumps. You are guaranteed to see results with an alcohol free razor treatment that makes a visible difference in just 2 days.
Electric Shaver. Maybe you’d be more inclined to buy your own than borrow his. But your guy is definitely onto something here. An electric shaver reduces razor bumps and is great for “landscaping” in between waxes. Some electric shavers like  give you such a close cut, there’s no need for waxing or depilatories.

Hand Lotion. Engineered with men who work with their hands in mind, is perfect for restoring dry, rough skin.  The rich, non-greasy formula will leave your hands silky smooth and mend damaged cuticles.

Razor. If you’re yearning a sleek shave for your legs, borrow his razor. Try Gillette M3 Power, a razor that combines 3 blade shaving technology with patented-coated blades and the power micropulses. Boys get all the cool stuff!

Deodorant. While there are ton of antiperspirants for women that claim to have the same strength of men’s deodorants, we’re completely sold on Gillette’s 3x Invisible Solid in Power Rush. The musky scent masks odor in a way women’s powdery scents don’t. Plus men’s deodorant tends to be cheaper!

Mercedes-Benz soon to lauch first perfume!

INCC Group and Mercedes-Benz have announced that INCC Group have now  obtained the license agreement to develop, manufacture and distribute the first fragrance line for the Mercedes-Benz brand worldwide.

Commenting on the license agreement, Rémy Deslandes, President and Chief Executive Officer of INCC Group, said, “Nothing great has ever been accomplished without passion, 125 years after the creation of the first automobile, Mercedes-Benz will enter the fragrance world. I am thrilled and excited by this given responsibility and it is with passion that I will meet our business partners at the TFWA in Cannes this September to witness together the birth of a perfume star.”
