Positioned within one of the city’s fastest-growing districts, the development is being described as a blend of modern architecture, economic ambition, and strategic urban expansion. The project is an initiative of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, whose “Made-in-Nigeria” vision underpins the mall’s conception. Designed to deliver a world-class shopping experience within a rapidly developing suburban belt, Ojaja Mall reflects a deliberate effort to bring premium retail infrastructure closer to emerging residential communities.
With about 300 retail outlets, the complex accommodates a wide range of businesses, including fashion, technology, entertainment, and dining. It also features cinema and gaming facilities, positioning it as a comprehensive lifestyle destination rather than a conventional shopping centre.
A notable feature of the development is the Ojaja Hotel Suites, a 30-room hospitality extension integrated into the mall. The facility offers a hybrid experience, allowing visitors to combine business, leisure, and accommodation within a single environment—an approach still relatively uncommon in Nigeria’s retail sector.
Industry observers note that the mall’s location within the Ajah-Lekki growth corridor enhances its commercial viability. The development is already contributing to job creation across retail, security, and hospitality sectors, while also providing a platform for small and medium-scale enterprises to expand their operations. In addition, it is expected to stimulate further investment and raise property values along the Ogombo axis.
Operational leadership of the mall is overseen by its Managing Director, Princess Adebimpe Ogunwusi. Widely regarded by tenants and stakeholders as hands-on and detail-oriented, she is credited with maintaining high operational standards and ensuring efficient management of the facility.
