WHY FATHIA BALOGUN's WEDDING DIDN'T HOLD ON MAY 21

The heavily hyped wedding of Yoruba actress Fathia Balogun didn’t hold after all. Fathia had confirmed the gist of  the wedding some months back, stating that the wedding proper would hold on May 21. Movie lovers and friends of Fathia looked forward to the date after her engagement to Ade, a US based Nigerian took place in January 2011.
The wedding of Fathia to Ade, was one of the most talked about celebrity marriage.  A lot of people were surprise when the marriage didn’t hold again.
Could this mean that the wedding plans have collapsed? In a report by Afolabi Oyekoya, Fathia was said to have met some brick walls in the plan to Houston Texas based dude. When Fathia went to the US, she discovered that Ade is still married to a white woman. They also have a child together. The white woman was said to have threatened to sue Ade over she considered bigamy.

In a bid to confirm the story, Fathia waved the question aside stating that the May 21 wedding was only a ‘provisional’ date (whatever that means).

Fathia, who is partly Delta and partly Yoruba was married to actor, Saheed Balogun before their marriage crashed over allegations and counter allegations of adultery. Saheed alleged that Fathia’s escapades with a popular movie producer led to the collapse of their marriage.
Speculations are rife in town that the whole marriage plan was done in a hurry just to get back at Saheed her former husband.
Gistmaster gathered that Fathia wanted to show off that she can get someone better than him. She wanted Saheed to be envious. Those who are not in tune with that school of thought, said  Fathia needed to get a man of her own after all Saheed has moved on.
We have heard stories of his romance with other actresses including Funke Adeshiyan. So let Fathia be!
One of Fathia's friends told gistmaster today from America that the wedding plan is still on but the date won't me made for the general public for personal reasons.

NOLLYWOOD STAR HALIMA ABUBAKAR RETURNS- FRESH ,BOLDER AND BETTER

Halima Abubakar seems to be working her way to the hearts of Nollywood fans. Gistmaster gathered that she is working through various platforms to project her for the big movie, modeling, brand and social market. Just recently, the story broke that the actress just finished a 20 Million Naira home. Are you surprised? Some guys would do anything just to be at the feet of these nolywood stars. Not too long ago, Ebube Nwangbo another actress got a big dash. Someone gave her an Hummer Jeep.

HALIMA ABUBAKAR PHOTOSHOOT -STEADY RISE TO STARDOM

When she started out over a decade ago in the make believe world, nobody gave her a chance then, apart from the fact that some people see her as too young to have an impact, others hanged religious sentiments on her neck calling her a rebel.Others believe she can not make it in Lagos where Nollywood is booming because she lived all her life in the beautiful city of Kano.

Undaunted, Halima Abubakar forged ahead with minor roles and moved on to bigger roles. Today, the face of this kogi state born beauty adorns the jackets of countless movies. Thanks to hard work and tenacity.

When she was just about reaping the fruits of her hard earned labor, wicked arsonists sent her business, concerns in kano on fire. This incident instead of throwing her off balance only strengthened her and in a way likened to the biblical Job, God gave her a beautiful house in Lagos to cover for her loss. This is just one of the luxuries of life this philanthropist who do not like bragging about her achievements is blessed by God with.

Her career has been soaring higher and higher. Little wonder then that brands keep falling on one another to make her face grace their adverts. Already an ambassador, with many award nominations coming her way from home and abroad, she has taken over already. What more could be said about this intelligent actress, model and writer. Go girl, the sky is just the beginning.

FCMB RECORDS N7.9BN PROFIT …TO PAY 35 KOBO DIVIDEND

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Plc has released its financials for the year ended December 2010 declaring profit after taxation of N7.9 billion and a proposed dividend of 35kobo to the shareholders.

The N7.9 billion profit after taxation declared by the bank represents 837 per cent growth in post-tax earnings on an annualised basis compared to the N564 million for the 8-months ended December 2009, following the 2009 change in financial year-end.

The Group audited result for the financial year also showed that while profit after taxation grew by 837 percent, Gross earnings for the Group was N63 billion, a 17 per cent annualised growth over the period ended December 2009.

A statement by the bank also showed that Risk assets grew by 38 percent from N240 billion as at December 2009, to N330 billion as at December 2010.

Net interest margin however, narrowed during the year. This, the bank said was due to the low interest rate environment and the focus on high quality credit, resulting in a 10 percent decline in net interest income and  was however compensated for, by the 59 percent increase in non-interest income during the year, coming largely from borrowing relationships.

Operating expenses were kept under control and grew by only 3 percent in the year.

Further analysis of the financials released by the bank showed Asset quality improved significantly with the NPL ratio of the group dropping from 9 percent in December 2009 to 5.5 percent in December 2010.

Total assets and contingents grew by 17 percent from N514 billion in December 2009 to N604 billion in December 2010. The statement attributed this growth to improved funding, with deposit liabilities growing 26 percent to N335 billion from N266 billion in December 2009..

The Bank has proposed a dividend of 35 kobo, up by 600 percent from the 5kobo per share for the eight months ended December 2009.

KATUNG ADUWAK,BIG BROTHER NIGERIA WINNER SAYS CHOCOLATE CITY DID NOT HIRE HIM, RATHER HE IS A PART OWNER

Big brother Nigeria winner, Katung Aduwak is ready to give showbiz another try after what many considered a 'sabbatical leave' from social life.Katung who won $100,000 (USD) after the reality show is now into film and music video production. He shot the popular Ice Prince superstar video.
In a recent interview monitored by GISTMASTER.COM, Katung said he invested the $100,000 prize money he won into farming through his parents in Kaduna and Abuja. He also used part of the money to pay his school fees at the New York Film Academy. The rest of the money, Katung said he invested into Chocolate City, a record label.
Contrary to speculations in town that the he was hired by Chocolate City, Katung said he is a part owner and not an employee. He disclosed that other co-owners are Paul Okeugo, Yahaya Maikori and Audu Maikori. Chocolate City handles the likes of MI, Ice Prince and others.
If you think Katung's dream stops at the shooting music videos only, then you are still far away from the real gist. Katung disclosed that he wants to be like Jetta Amata, who is shooting big time Nigerian films. He wants to beyond the regular Nollywood movies. He wants something bigger and better researched.

As at the time he won the Big Brother Nigeria, the heavily hyped Political Science graduate was one of the sought after dude in town.

Katung a former on air personality with Cool FM, was the cynosure of all eyes at major events in town. But he went into social oblivion less than a year after many thought he has embraced limelight. He did Harp Larger Beer and Globacom adverts. In the interview, Katung blamed Storm Records his official management company at that time for not doing much in terms of getting him endorsements, noting that Glo and Harp adverts were stuffs he got through his own unwavering efforts.
