By Niyi Tabiti
Chief Reporter

Popular musician, Abolore Akande popularly known as 9ice was in a fix this afternoon as an ATM card belonging to him was seized at GTBank located in Ibadan, Oyo State (Nigeria), today (29 August 2008)
According to an impeccable source, the musician was trying to withdraw some money at the Bodija branch of the bank when the incident occurred few hours ago. He reportedly came in company of four other guys to the point of withdrawal. He actually came for a photo shoot at a studio known as PIXEL when he decided to withdraw some money at the nearest bank.
“I think he entered wrong password three times and the machine doubted him. That was why the card was seized” disclosed the source
Sources hinted www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com that he later approached bank officials so that they can help in retrieving the card. We gathered that the musician is in Ibadan right now for an event tagged “24 hours with 9ice”.

WHO SAYS EMEKA ANI IS OLD?

Story & photos by Niyi Tabiti
Chief Reporter

" Yeah, check me out.I am still there", Nollywood star, Emeka Ani seems to be saying as http://www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com/ took the first photo on this page at a social function the other day. Ani who is famous ( not notorious) for his bad man role in Nigerian movies show off in the second photo that he is old but not odd as far as 'women affairs' is concerned. The babe in the photo is a friend of the ever 'boobling' dancer, Miss Cossy Orjiakor.
So, when next you see the 'bearded' actor, please differ from calling him Pa Emeka Ani...He is still very young a heart. In fact, he just married a much younger lady. Whether or not he would equal or surpass the record of Pa Fatai Rolling (babies) Dollars, when he get to his age is what we don't know.

WHATS HAPPENING TO STEPHANIE OKEREKE'S MUSIC CAREER?

By Niyi Tabiti
Chief Reporter

The music career of one of Stephanie Okereke, one of Nigeria's most celebrated movie stars seem to be hold for now. The sexy actress told www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com sometime ago that sh was all out to give her talent in music the real boost by releasing a single. When www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com asked the star after a party sometime ago, she confessed that she was hanging out with the duo of Dayo Adeneye (D-ONE) and Kenny (Keke) Ogungbe of Primetime Entertainment because they were helping her to be a real music star.
Efforts to get the reaction on the current state of things proved abortive as at press time.Once we link up with the two parties, you will be the first to know.
Following massive successes recorded by their American counterparts in Hollywood, Nigerian movie stars have also dabbled into the world of music. There are strong indications that most of them have not made any outstanding record as a performing artiste. Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jolade-Ekehinde, Nkem Owoh,Ernest Azuzu,Ramsey Nouah and several others have tried...

YESTERDAY IN LAGOS NIGERIA:UNILEVER NIGERIA PLC UNVEILS NEW CAMPAIGN FOR OMO MULTIACTIVE DETERGENT POWDER

Unilever Nigeria Plc on Wednesday, August 27th 2008 at a well attended media launch in Lagos, unveiled a new campaign for one of its flagship brands, OMO Multiactive detergent powder. The new campaign is targeted at ensuring mothers' most important laundry needs are met with ease. The message is simple; one 1kg pack of Omo washes more that 2,500 socks. This campaign, according the brand owners, has been verified by an independent laboratory.

According to the Marketing Director, Unilever Nigeria Plc, Richard Ponsford, the brand which is noted for its quality, is no doubt one of the most consistent in the market. This he explained underlies the idea behind the new campaign which is designed to further bring improvement to the brand. He noted that “though stains are inevitable in our strive for success in life, Omo detergent powder is readily available to remove hard stains”
The OMO brand has been able to prove over the years that leadership is about quality, and this can be seen in the continuous research that has helped it maintain its overwhelming presence in the market.
As a buildup to the launch of the new campaign, and in their bid to capture the interest of the consumers, the company, commissioned an independent consumer and market research firm to establish what items of clothing mother's wash frequently as well as what item of clothing that was hardest to wash amongst housewives and the people in the laundry business.
The result of this which was unveiled at the media launch by John M. Emmanuel, Chief Operating Officer, Reliant Research & Resources Consulting, showed that Socks is the hardest material to wash among children’s clothing items. It also reaffirmed the position of the Omo brand as a leader in the market segment, a brand committed to meeting consumer needs.
Based on the research, the brand therefore picked Socks as the core item in the new campaign and it is being used to showcase the effectiveness of OMO in removing the most difficult of stains from one of the toughest items of clothing that mothers wash.
The survey was conducted via face-to face personal interviews using a simple structured questionnaire, at different part of the country, including Aba, Abuja, Benin, Enugu, Kaduna, Kano and Lagos. Its target was mothers with children ranging from ages 3-10 years who personally wash their children’s clothes; and others who work either at the factory or are clerical personnel.
Speaking on this Ijeoma Olisa, Category Manager, Homecare, explained that the choice of Socks for the campaign is to assure mothers that “with Omo no stains are too hard to deal with no matter where they occur”
She added that though the company is out to sustain it leadership position in quality product delivery, the essence of the research was actually to ensure that the view of the consumers is taken into consideration in the company’s plans to deliver quality product to the market.
This will help to strengthen the position of Omo as the preferred detergent powder for its ability to remove stubborn stains without affecting the fabric quality; a unique brand strength the new Omo possesses when compared to other detergents.
Omo Multiactive detergent powder has been proven to take out tough stains from different clothing items, “we know this because we have tested it. It was so effective in washing more that 2,500 socks CLEAN! The Omo Multiactive detergent powder formulation is specially designed with enzymes to deliver this benefit. While the enzymes act directly on the stains, the fabrics and colours are left intact. That is the Omo brand promise”, says Olisa.

PARTY RULES 6:MAKE THINGS HAPPEN

By Niyi Tabiti
Chief Reporter

Most of us learnt long time ago that there are three different kind of people on earth. Those who wonder why things happen, those who imagine things happen and those who make things happen!
Of course, you have to belong to the last group. Make things happen. Don't go to that party just to look at people dacing (It is not a cinema). You've got to rock, rock. In case, you don't know the rocking formular you can ask our dear entertainer per excellence, Derele Edun of Soundcity. The guy seems to be screaming (of ecstasy?).
Hmm..Derele!

PARTY RULES 5:KEEP IT SIMPLE!

By Niyi Tabiti
Chief Reporter

Take it or leave it, it pays to look simple like the irresistible Pastor (Mrs.) Ifeayin Adefarasin of House on the Rock Church. You don't have to show off that you are indeed the pancake queen or wear so much ornament that would make you look like a masquerade before you are recognised as the most elegant at that social gathering. Simplicity talks. What you wear does not determine how much you are worth.Keep everything to the minimal and you will be astounded how much respect you will get.

PARTY RULES 4: IF YOU AINT GOT THE SMILE FOR THE PARTY, DON'T PARTY!

By Niyi Tabiti
Chief Reporter

If you like wear a lace fabric worth $10 million dollar or a wristwatch that is well worth the price of America Airforce One, if you aint in the right mood for the party don't party. Your dressing is not complete without that smile! Take it or leave, some people attend functions just to cause commotion. They are just looking for someone who will mistakenly step on their toes and they get loose!
Get on the party train and be positive.Show love and rock as if you taught King Sunny Ade those 'wicked' dancing steps. To steal the show, plant a smile on your face.It makes you look more beautiful.

PARTY RULES 3:CONFIDENCE & PLEASE NO TERRIBLE HEELS.

By Niyi Tabiti
Chief Reporter

Confidence is what you need when you step into that party just like our dear Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon in this photo.Don't just breeze at a jet speed or wear a shoe with terrible heels (The kind that make so much noise like a trailer horn). Some people try to gain attention at parties especially dinner by coming late, yet trying to gain attention with their supposed ‘American wonder’ high heel shoes.Yeah! You will get noticed with a terrible look of course!

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

PARTY RULES 2:STEAL GLANCES

STEAL GLANCES: That you are hot is determined by the number of people who steal glances at you whenever you party with others. Now, don't just believe you are the hottest until you steal glances at others too. Check out their style and see if you are not over dressed!
Secondly, make sure that your phone is fully charged because everyone would come accross as being friendly and trust, they would want to have your number! "Sorry, my phone is down" would give the wrong signal that you are a bad planner.
In Lagos parties, almost everyone want to out shine one another. Mind you, some people can tell the prices of everything you are wearing from A-Z. Like callywaffygirl would say, DG is different from D&G!

PARTY RULES 1:LICK IT!

CHANGE THE TEMPO-Whenever you step into that party and almost everyone around get envious of what you are wearing or they could not just take their eyes off because of your heavenly beauty or well endowned body...just lick it!
Trust me, their brain will log out immediately!
When next you step into that party, change the tempo and be a pacesetter!

RAMSEY NOUAH ROCKS!

Story & photo by Niyi Tabiti
Chief Reporter

Nollywood star actor Ramsey Adetokunbo Nouah is one man who likes to rock and he rocks real good. Almost every night, Ramsey takes his so much cherished talent of night crawling to the hilt, visiting various hangouts in different parts of Ikoyi and Victoria Island in the process.
http://www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com/ radar spotted him on Sunday 17 August 2008 at Swe Bar inside City Mall, Lagos Island. He did some beautiful numbers and almost all the people present hailed the actor as a fantastic singer. On Tuesday 19 August 2008, Ramsey, in company of some hot chics (I mean Hawwtt!) also stormed ‘Number 10’ the popular hangout in Victoria Island owned by soccer star, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha. From there they moved over to Reloaded, another hangout (formerly 11:45) in Ikoyi, Lagos. They laft around midnight...to another hot spot I guess. At Reloaded, the Dangerous Twins star played so much that one wouldn't have thought he was the same star in Nigerian movies. Well, life is good when you feel good! Girls who wanted his attention besieged him infront of Reloaded, each recounting what they like about him.
Unlike before, Ramsey, one of the finest chaps ever to appear in Nigerian movies is now more down to earth.

One of them said, “Forget whatever you hear or read elsewhere, Ini and Phillip are not planning any wondrous wedding show in September”.

On the other hand, the source told http://www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com/ that the Akwa Ibom state born actress is totally different from the wrong identity that a lot of her detractors are spreading about town. According to the source, Ini is cool and down to earth but highly misunderstood. Ini who is currently holidaying in the US is due to return to Nigeria any moment from now. According to our findings, the new Ini would be a totally re-branded one.
The two have been rumoured to be planning the wedding since last year shortly after their romance and engagement became public knowledge.Initially, rumour mill was agog that their wedding was to take place first quarter of this year.

REPORTER'S DIARY:GISTMASTER GOES ON ONE WEEK BREAK...PLUS WHEN SHE SAID "YES!"

Its good to be here.

First, let me tell you that I am proud that Nigerians all over the world are passionate about their nation.
In those days T-shirt with the inscription- ‘I Love Chicago’ or ‘I am a Londoner’ was so much in vogue. We were not proud of our own thing. The reverse is now the case. Today, you see Nigerians abroad having something like ‘I be Ibo boy’, ‘Lagos for real’-boldly written on their shirts. Those in naija also have different collections.I believe America is great because Americans belief in it.The T-shirt stuff is just one of the over million ways that we can project naija to the rest of the world as a force to be reckoned with. Those T-shirts don't come cheap. A friend has a showroon somewhere on Sanusi Fafunwa Street,Victoria-Island, Lagos. She stocks high quality T-shirt with marvelous inscription.

That aside.Gistmaster would be going on a one week partial break starting from Monday 11 August 2008. Yours truly is engaged to married to someone this month. The wedding is has been scheduled to hold in Lagos, Nigeria.
Hmm...you want to hear my love story? Well, we met one beautiful afternoon in Lagos about six years ago. She did the normal shakara most ladies do but I was steadfast (Thats my strongest point, I go for whatever I like no matter how much people try to discourage me)
The day she finally said “Yes”…I went to pick her for a wedding and on our way back, she agreed but for sometime, I thought it was a joke to make me keep my mouth shut!
Na so the love come dey sweet us…me sef, I no know wetin the girl see for my body o but make una help me thank her because even when we get misunderstanding, she still say Niyi I love you!
Attraction?
I hate it when you ask guys what attracted them to babes, they would tell you,her humility, her career prospect and all that. I must tell you the truth, the initial thing was her physical attributes. She had this robust shape and everything was just complete.Later, she became more like my teacher.I knew that to keep somebody like that i just have to be serious minded in all I do.
Shortcomings?
Initially, we use to have so misunderstandings over her social life. Whenever we go to parties or she agreed to go clubbing with me, she would refuse to dance. I just thought she was not crazy enough for me but now I have adapted.
I know what she doesn’t like about me (she even said it this today) . According to her, anytime we have a misunderstanding and she refuses to listen to me, I will just romance my computer. One I do that, she knows that no Jupiter can take me away until after I must have finished my work. No mind her..she want me to pet and pet..abeg, i be Yoruba boy, i no me oyinbo!

I have no choice than to write about it since my friends in the Nigerian print media such as City People Magazine, Global Excellence etc have written about it in their columns. She has also been telling me "Niyi, if you know you are not hiding anything, write it on facebook"
For those who want to know about the freekicks, side kicks, Honeymoon and all that...stay glued.I will gist you...especially the wedding night! See ya!

BEST DRESSED ACTRESS:RITA LEADS...!

Dear Readers,

We are more than grateful for your votes on the best dressed actress. At first, we had a long list but we had to drop some names for obvious reasons. Through votes, we shortlisted the names to three. The names are Omotola Jolade-Ekehinde,Rita Dominic and Genevieve Nnaji. Aside the votes so far gathered from readers of http://www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com/, I also went out of my way to get journalists, advertising executives and celebrities to vote on the contest. The target was 40 Nigerian celebrities and 40 Nigerian journalists, who cover brands and advertising, entertainment, fashion and style.

I assured all that voted that their votes would not be revealed individually, rather it would be a collective one. I went through the submissions of the various voters and I have been collating the result with the help of some of my friends.

Those that have so far voted included Mr. Ayo Shonaiya, a producer who is resident in the UK, Mr. Steve Babaeko a top advertising executive in Nigeria, Mr. Kunle Afolayan, actor and producer in Nigeria, Mr. Ayeni Adekunle, a top entertainment journalist in Nigeria, Miss Nonye Iwuagwu, another leading entertainment writer with Punch Newspapers,Mr.Uche Olehi of Encomium Magazine, Bella Naija a top style and entertainment blogger, Tosyn Bucknor, another media executive and event manager per excellence,Oge, a top presenter on Brila FM has also voted,Stella Dimoko Korkus of Encomium magazine has also sent in her votes... pardon me the list is just too long. Most of them voted through my facebook, email, phone calls and text messages.

Right now, I am talking to some fashion designers so that the election won't be rigged at all.

From what has so far been gathered, Rita Dominic seems to be leading, closely followed by Genevieve Nnaji.Somehow, the story seems to be changing from what we earlier bargained. How? Alot of people are calling for more names to be added to the list and more time before the result is announced. Ebube Nwagbo,Dakore Egbuson and Rukki Sanda are some of the names that have been consistently mentioned. If you think they desrve a place on the list please let us know. Meanwhile you can still cast your votes.

Already, we have wonderful prizes in form of expensive make ups and clothes from a lady I will simply call KU in the United States of America. Pearl Shillingford, another person that deals with top hair products for celebrities has also partnered with us from Canada (She is not even a Nigerian but she is hooked to what she reads about our celebrities) .You can visit her website: www.eyecandylacewigs.com

The great thing is that someone is also going to win wonderful gifts. For instance, wonderful dresses would be sent directly by KU to the reader we choose anywhere in the world.

The winner would be announced later this month. Please, click on the link below to view comments and cast your votes http://niyitabiti.blogspot.com/2008/06/so-who-is-hottest-in-nollywood.html

This babe infront and friend (or is she her sister) tried all they could to evade paparazzi last night 3 August 2008) in Lagos but they were not so lucky.Information gathered by http://www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com/ indicates that she is Yeside, one of the daughters of Chief Lai Mohammed. She owns MyQ, a boutique in Victoria-Island.The other babe is from Belo-Osagie's family. Why these two georgous babes tried to dribble press photographers baffles all.Afterall, they knew they were coming to a press event!

THISDAY STYLE GIRL, AZUKA OGUJUIBA ALSO STEPS ON THE RED CARPET

In Nigeria, fashion writers are also doing their best to fall into the league of those they report.Gone are the days when you see reporters hanging out in one corner or looking shabbily. These days Fashion & style writers are so confident that they can do what celebrities do on red carpet...even better!
www.niyitabiti.com captured Azuka Ogujuiba, a member of THISDAY Newspapers style team and someone (I presumed) is her collegue last night right on the red carpet of Kunle Afolayan's Irapada movie premiere ( Sunday 3 August 2008) at Agip Hall, Muson Centre, Lagos.
They later headed for City People Fashion & Style Awards, which was also taking place at Shell Hall located inside the same building.

UNCOMMON FASHIONISTA:WHEN BIOLA OKOYA STEPS OUT LAST NIGHT AT CITY PEOPLE FASHION & STYLE AWARDS

Biola Okoya use to be one of the most talked about big girls in Nigeria until she fizzled out of social scene for sometime. Now, it look as if the flamboyant daughter of billionaire business mogul, Alhaji Rasaq Akanni Okoya is back on the scene!

When it comes to partying, Biola was in the top league of those who organise the most sassy and flamboyant parties in town (The kind that you see even top brass socialites begging for invitation)
All that have reduced and you can only catch her at few parties these days. http://www.niyitabiti.com/ sighted her last night ( 3 August 2008) stepping into the venue of the City People Fashion and Style Awards at MUSON Centre, Onikan. She came with Nma Bakassi, Chief Mrs. Florence Ita-Giwa.
My camera could not resist taking those gold rings she wore on her feet! Here, it is captured and arrowed by http://www.niyitabiti.com/
Once married to childhood love (Akinwande Johnson) , Biola is the fifth child of her father and second child of her mum. Party or no party, she regarded as one of the brains behind the vast business empire of her father which spans manufacturing, property etc.
She was the topic of gossip bewteen two socialites that saw her at MUSON Centre last night. One of them said she was suprised to see Biola at the party. She also wondered why the 42 year old mother of three has not remarried years after her official divorce from Mr.Johnson. The lady also asked if it was true the gist that Biola relocated abroad some years back to ease the tension of controversial stories written about her every now and them by various tabloids.
The other one said she was not suprised that Biola spent so much money on fashion accessories, afterall she is very dedicated to the day to day running of her father companies.
Hmmm...she works hard and plays hard (Like my friend would say) ...I concluded!( abi mo paro ni?)

MOVIE PREMIERE:STONE FACE THE FIRST ECOWAS FULL CAST MOVIE GOES TO SILVERBIRD GALLERIA ON 16 AUGUST 2008 WITH A WONDROUS RED CARPET SHOW

Faced with abject economic poverty, Nadia Buari, the protagonist of Stone Face, a Jet Set Entertainment production had two options. Sell her body in exchange for a few crisp Naira notes or continue to suffer economic discomfort. But that is not all, to add to her stress, her beauty and intelligence attract more trouble than she is equipped to cope with. Thus she finds herself on collision course with the Vice President’s daughter inadvertently because her boyfriend has developed a yet undefined romantic interest in her.

According to Kemi Otegbade, Heartlink Events Boss, Nadia Buari’s reaction to unwarranted hatred is capable of psychologically liberating individuals who in offices, market places, and other business environments find themselves fighting a battle of survival and self preservation.

Back to the issue of Nadia, she is eager to avoid “under skirt woman resources marketing” and is so down to earth, she decides to borrow money rather than steal and excel through hard work.

The Heartlink Events and Human Resource Consultant explained further that in society, “Man” within this context, symbolic of human beings in general, is faced with various day to day challenges and the way these problems are handled determine to a large extent the ability of the individual technically referred to as a brand to become a social, economic, political, religious success, failure or a societal nuisance as in the cases of Nadia and Uche Jombo respectively.

Kemi explains that while Uche Jombo, the spoilt daughter of the Vice President causes so much havoc, Nadia on her part was busy trying to make the society a better place. But by and large Uche gives the story a refreshing comic twist that drastically neutralizes the tension generated by mass killings verbal and physical warfare. She urged movie lovers and professionals in the movie industry to be part of the Stone Face premiere scheduled to take place on August 16th, 2008 at Silverbird Galleria.

Tickets, which cost N5, 000 for V.I.P and N2, 500 economy are currently on sale at Wrangler outlets all over Lagos, Silverbird Galleria, The Palms Shopping Mall and Heartlink Events office at Surulere. For phone enquiries call:07027610781 or 08029724825.
