Business leaders,Bankers to address SME Business owners in Lagos

Founder of Leap Africa, Mrs. Ndidi Nwuneli has been named as the Keynote Speaker of January 9 Collective 4th Anniversary lecture scheduled for Tuesday, January 12th, 2015 at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
Nwuneli, who is co-Founder of AACE Food Processing & Distribution, an indigenous agro processing company will be speaking on the theme: “SMEs the engine room of the economy; who’s talking to them?”
According to Mr. Wole Olagundoye, the Chairman, Anniversary Committee, “Every year, we celebrate our anniversary with various activities, the high point of which is our annual lecture during which we debate and proffer solutions to burning topical issues affecting our nation. This year, rebuilding our economy is one of the federal government’s priorities hence we are focusing on SMEs, being the major driver of true economic growth”
He stated that apart from Nwuneli, Kunle Sonola, Executive Director, Union Bank will deliver a speech as Special Guest while Bunmi Lawson, MD Accion Microfinance bank, Henry Akwara, Director, Mansard Insurance, Akin Oyebode, Head, SMEs StanbicIBTC Bank, Funmi Ajila-Ladipo, President, FADAN will act as Panelists. Tony Elumelu Foundation and Oppenheimer family launch Book on Africans Investing in Africa


CAPE TOWN – Two of Africa’s most prominent foundations – the Nigeria-based Tony Elumelu Foundation and the Oppenheimer family’s Brenthurst Foundation of South Africa – launched an important new book titled “Africans Investing in Africa” on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Africa meeting in Cape Town.

The 338-page book covers a range of important topics critical to Africa’s development. It provides a unique perspective of how Africans are leading the way through intra-African trade and investment, documenting how, where and why Africans invest across the continent.  The book also identifies the economic, political and social experiences that hinder or stimulate

GM CONSUMER MARKETING MTN NIGERIA, KOLA OYEYEMI MARKS 45TH BIRTHDAY IN LAGOS

It was to a cheering crowd that Kolawole Oyeyemi, GM Consumer Marketing; MTN Nigeria launched his new book, “Wealth without Theft” at the Grand Ballroom, Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Guests included top bosses from the telecommunications, advertising, marketing and PR industries.
Starting out with a lush cocktail session, guests were treated to an impressive recitation by the poet, Sage and a performance by popular saxophonist; Sax Dude. There was also a surprise documentary on the celebrant made by friends and family.
After the book was launched, it was reviewed by Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi (Chairman, APCON and Prima Garnet) and later, different guests said a few words about the author and made private donations to the book.
Notable faces at the Saturday, February 18 event include, Mr. Felix Omoikhoje Ohiwerei (Chairman, ARM Funds) who was also the chairman of the event, Mr. Udeme Ufot (Group chairman, SO&U Saatchi), Mrs Lynda Saint Nwafor (Chief Technical officer), Jimmy Awosika (CEO, Insight Communication), Saint Obi, ID Ogungbe, Fela Durotoye, Ayo Animashaun, Jedi, Rotimi Pedro, Kelvin Orifa, among other guests.

ASCON OIL MARK 25 YEARS ANNIVESARY WITH A CLASSY DINNER IN LAGOS-SEE PHOTOS AND FULL STORY HERE

Ascon Oil Company Limited, the preferred petroleum marketing company as promised in their recent communications surpassed the Nigeria Oil and Gas industry stakeholders’ expectations with their 25th Anniversary dinner held at the Muson Center Lagos. The colourful occasion which plays host to the mavens and connectors in the Nigeria business environment was indeed the crescendo of the Silver Jubilee celebration.

One of the key reasons for this spectacular black tie event was the unveil of the new Ascon Oil corporate identity which can only be summarized to connote the revitalized Ascon Oil. In reiteration of their commitment for value driven services to customers and stakeholders, the Group Managing Director Barrister Mrs. Grace Enenmoh says in her address to the distinguish gathering stated that “  25 years celebration is relevant and emotive for the us as we have as a company overcome many challenges to become what we are today. I want to explore two particular themes in my comments today which I will like to keep short to enable us all enjoy the entertainment lined up. These two themes are character and determination which will be more noticeable to all in the nearest future”.

The Executive Director Operations Ascon Oil Ike Enenmoh in his comments on the red carpet said “all these while we are laying the foundation to be a well integrated Oil and Gas Company”. In the same vein the Chairman of Ascon Oil Alhaji Aliko Gwadabe asserts at the cocktail that “despite the loss our founder Engr. George Enenmoh, the management team of Ascon Oil have been able to better position the company as a 21st century organization ready to Go Forward (new tagline) own a refinery and series of upstream activities”.

Also lending a voice of commendation at the occasion were the Minister of Works, Senator Mohammed Sanausi Daggash and the Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,(NNNPC) Austen Oniwon, have commended the management of Ascon Oil Company Limited for keeping the flag of the company flying 25 years after it was establish by late Engr. George Enenmoh.

They both described the growth of the company and its contribution to the nation’s economy as a monumental achievement, worthy of emulation by other players in the private sector. According to Daggash, who said he had a close relationship with the late founder of the company, the height recorded before and after the death of Engr. George Enenmoh by Ascon Oil speaks volumes for the quality leadership of the Group Managing Director of the company Mrs. Grace Enenmoh and loyal support from other management staff and stakeholders.

Representing the NNPC Group Managing Director at the occasion, Engr. Billy Ada also described Ascon as an independent marketer of petroleum products that has existed and upheld rules of best practice in the last 25 years. “As a company that was established by an experienced hand in the oil and gas sector, Ascon has contributed greatly to the sector and quota to the economy as well” he said.

The unveil of the new Ascon corporate identity was spearheaded by the Special Adviser to the President on Petroleum Matters Dr, Emmanuel O. Egbogah, OON alongside Ascon Oil top management and other notable personalities.  The Special Adviser to the President in his unveil speech said that the Ascon Oil management in innovative ways have initiated the need to improve on their corporate identity; to be more contemporary and to depict what the company stands for and operates by.

The invited guests were thrilled with some classical music (String Quartet) at the Cocktail, while the dinner had some life band music and DJ Freshwaves  with Dbanj ended the night with some energetic performances.

At the end of it all, everyone that were at the Ascon Oil 25 years anniversary dinner were full of praises and satisfaction as they hope that soonest there will be another reason to call for a similar gathering of this magnitude.
