RUSSIA AND QATAR TO HOST 2018 AND 2022 WORLD CUP

Russia and Qatar have won the bid to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cup tournament respectively. The Russia trashed the bid of Portugal- Spain, Holland-Belgium and England to host the 2018 world cup . Qatar won the bid to host the 2022 World cup ahead of United States, South Korea, Japan and Australia.

The announcement was made today after the result of a secret ballot by world soccer governing body, FIFA was declared in Zurich, Switzerland. Gistmaster.com gathered that 22 executive members of FIFA voted.

Gistmaster.com gathered that the  Emir of oil rich Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani was in Zurich to witness the voting. He was very happy because it would be the first time his country would be hosting a world sporting event of such magnitude.

Valdimir Putin, the Russian leader has expressed delight at the new arrangement. He is expected to visit Switzerland soon to thank the FIFA for the honour.

Popular producer, Cobhams Asuquo  got married this morning! According to news gathered from thenetng.com this afternoon, the wedding took place inside the Redemption Camp of Redeemed Christian Church of God along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway today 2 December 2010.

For the visually impaired producer, he prefers a quite wedding that would be devoid of all the attention that usually come an occasion involving a celebrity of his status.

Though blind, Cobhams has written songs and produced work of notable Nigerian musicians.
