BOLD ELEGANCE RULES THE GREEN CARPET @ THE FUTURE AWARDS 2011

It was the 6th edition of The Future Awards which held @ the prestigious Land Mark Village, Oniru Estate, Victoria Island- Lagos .


It was a night to be remembered as many youths and dignitaries stepped out in their numbers to appreciate the efforts of those upcoming Nigerians in their various fields of endeavor. As always their theme of ASPIRE , STRIVE & ACHIEVE was capped with the theme - I AM NIGERIA this year .


As with every award ceremony, the red carpet ( and in this case it was GREEN ) attracts much attention. Trust celebs and non celebs alike , they pushed the envelope in their colourful garbs as they set their style for the KILL.


One thing is for sure, the Buy Nigeria , Wear Nigeria theme has seriously caught on as most fashionistas have shelved the foreign labels to speak in their fashion accessories instead .


Most of the labels were much from the new skool than of the old, with some to Watch out for !!!!Some of the labels that lit up the Green carpet were- Bridget Awosika, Moofa ,Vonne, House Of Nwocha , Zebra, Akpos Okudu , Mai..... to mention a few.

P.C.M.A.N ,Nigeria's first makeup artist association for certified professionals in the beauty industry recently Launched its association @ Da first floor in Ikeja the 29th of December 2010.The association which was founded in March 2008 by Enitan Ibidun F.Balogun of Lise Beauty Range. P.c.m.a.n was established to bring creative like minds in the industry together to pave way and set standards for current pros ,the up and coming and also aspiring beauty pros.
The event saw the gathering of all P.C.M.A.N members as they marked their association launch in grand style. As shown below .

FUTURE AWARDS 2011:EKU EDEWOR GOT IT WRONG THIS TIME

For months now, Eku Edewor, the Studio 53 extra presenter on MNET has been dazzling us on the red carpets and she has been getting all the attention. We mean, the type of attention any fashionista or a trendsetter can get anywhere. This January, Gistmaster.com also crowned her the queen of the red carpet shows because of her role and also the fact that no 'WORTHY' red carpet is complete without the stunning Eku showing off her well endowed beauty and dress sense in the last one year.

But this time, she got it all wrong as she appeared on the green carpet of the 2011 edition of Future Awards in Lagos Nigeria.Eku who was wearing a 'boobs' popping dress was totally mis-represented the purpose of the night. It is not a night club or a show designed to show off whats underneath!- Some secondary school school pupils who were there when she walked on the red carpet opened their mouth in shock and laughed off the scenerio.We bet they have not seen such a thing face to face.

The Future Awards took place on Sunday 30 January 2010 at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island.It is a celebration of the Nigerian youth. According to Redstrat, the organizers of the award, it is a grand reception for the brightest and the best.

Awards categories include best use of technology, Best use of advocacy, creative professional of the year and so on.

The organizers of Future Awards have been living up to expectations. Today, it is the biggest youth award in the country.

A-Q'S DEBUT ALBUM SELLS 15000-UNITS WORTH. RELEASES FIRST #BLACKFRIDAY FREESTYLE

The 'Names' Rapper released his debut album 'The Past Present and Future' album on the 14th of December. His album which has received good reviews from both print and online media is doing good in sales - putting money in the rapper's pocket and his record label, Hustle Inc's bank account.

Nigerianhiphop.net reviews the album: "All in All AQ Has Delivered one of the Best Hip-Hop Albums  of 2010, Whose Classic nature cannot be denied even by the harshest critics. The Album is Honest, Street, Dark, Lyrical , Humorous, Braggadicious ,Original  and Most Importantly Hip-Hop.What Other Qualities do you need to Label an Album a Classic?? ...and Posterity Would surely Judge him for this Stellar Offering"

"I have a album marketer (AHBU Ventures) that has sold records for every big label in Nigeria but I basically still took on the project with the mindset of an independent artiste. He tagged it '#Blackfriday Freestyle'. The first freestyle where he rapped over Eminem's not afraid instrumental was released today [28 - 01 - 2011].

In the new and first Black Friday freestyle, he raps about his crush on singer Tiwa Savage and reference names of other rappers like Lynxxx,  Rick Ross and CC (Chocolate city)  just after his 'God bless the hustle' opening on the track. While the album might  seem like a mainstream attempt, the lyricist exhibits in this Black friday freestyle - not afraid the very understanding and the technicality in delivery he is renown in the underground Nigeria hiphop circuit.

His follow up single, Sold out featuring singer Xtrim would be released in February, just before valentine. It is track dedicated to ladies, to be released just in time as the valentine bug bites.
