BODE GEORGE RELEASED:STEPS OUT OF PRISON IN CELEBRATION

Chief Bode George a chieftain of Nigeria’s ruling Political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, who was sentenced to two years in jail for corrupt charges, had been released amidst fanfare. George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP was released today 26 February 2011 from the Kirikiri maximum prison where he had served his jail term.

A mammoth crowd made up of supporters, family members and well wishers came to welcome him from the prison in celebration. The crowd who sang praises of the politician said, they knew all along that the jail term handed over to Bode George was highly political, pointing fingers at a major opposition party.

Bode George was driven straight to the Church of Christ Cathedral in a convoy of cars amidst praises that he is indeed a great leader who has contributed so much to the lives of many people.

There was a short service at the cathedral located in Marina on Lagos, Island. Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was there to receive his friend and also share in the joy of his release. Others in include Ogun state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Ayo Fayose, a senatorial aspirant and former governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Modinot Adedibu was also there among others.

A host of Nigerian stars are headed for Nairobi, Kenya tonight ahead of tomorrow’s nomination party of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) scheduled to hold in Nairobi the capital of the east African country.

Gistmaster.com gathered that most of the stars who will be to Kenya will depart via  the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos. At the time of filing this report, gistmaster.com gathered the likes of Kate Henshaw,the duo of Peter and Paul Okoye of Psquare,Emem Ema of the Kush fame and now of One management are ready to board Kenya Airways. The journey will take about four hours on air. Gistmaster learn that other stars have already departed yesterday and the day before.

Peace Anyiam Osigwe the founder of AMAA announced some weeks back through a press statement signed by a member of her team, that the nomination's party for AMAA 2011, would hold in Kenya based on the overwhelming interest people from East African nations have shown in the AMAA so far.

The Africa movie academy awards team says it has received voluminous entries from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and other places in Africa, so it would nice to have the nominations party done there.

AMAA is an annual award event. The grand finale since inception takes place in the oil rich state of Bayelsa in Nigeria.Through AMAA several movie in Africa have been honored with awards.

For popular American rapper and actor, Eminem, this is not just another title. It signifies something remarkable in his career. No small fly beat Lady Gaga just like that. Eminem is big in music and he has several awards to show for it. Working with someone like hip hop king, Dr. Dre has also enhaced his career. Well, that is not the gist here.

The latest gist is that slim shady as Eminem is popularly called has continued to shine, despite losing in the album of the year category of Grammy 2011 award. Just some days ago, the handsome singer became the most likeable personality alive on social media. He reportedly has 28,883,000 ‘likes’ while Lady Gaga who has been holding the number 1 position for sometime has 28,883,272 likes. But analytic shows with the way things are going for Eminem, he might soon be leaving Lady Gaga with so much gap. Michael Jackson has the most ‘like’ Facebook fan page with 29.1 billion likes. But Eminem will soon surpassed that too.

Information at Gistmaster disposal indicates that Eminem now enjoy several likes button of facebook surfers and It is just a matter of days that he would speed off  leaving Lady Gaga several thousands of facebook likes apart. In 2010, Lady Gaga overtook America President, Barak Obama to become the most likes personality on Facebook.

Eminem is the new king of Facebook 'likes' but Lady Gaga has more views than him on Youtube. Gistmaster.com learn from yahoo that Lady Gaga has more than 190 million views than him. Lady Gaga has over one billion views, trailing only behind Justin Bieber, who is reportedly the King of Youtube views with 1.34 Billion views.

Don Jazzy, the fine producer behind the huge success of Mo’ Hits crew is one guy who like his action do the talking for him. Since his arrival from UK to test the entertainment business in Nigeria in 2004 till now, he has become more an enigma, respected by all. Thanks to D’banj, Wande Coal and the rest who gave Don Jazzy his due respect anytime they perform or even in their albums.

Don’Jazzy and other members of Mo’Hit including D’banj’s younger brother K-Swith, Da’Prince, Sunday Are, their manager and Bankuli their right marker stormed the 50^th birthday of Omolara, mother of Wande Coal in Oregun recently. Gistmaster.com noticed that Dbanj was absent. Well, we weren't expecting him, the crew prefer him to stay back so that he wont be seen too much in public.

Gistmaster.com sighted Don Jazzy on the dance floor with others. Just like we love to do when it is an ‘owambe’ party in naija, Don’Jazzy came to show off on the dance floor.  Our man started by spending N1000 notes, he spent so much that the celebrant also danced so well in appreciation. Howver, it got to a point, the pocket could not hold again for our dear Don Jazzy, so he had to reduce it to N100 (Naira) notes. Just like her husband, Jay Z who proudly invested so much into the Fela on the Broadway project, Africa-American star, Beyonce Knowles has also honoured Afro beat king, Fela Anikulapo Kuti in the 'spirit' of glamour and 'Africanness'.

Beyonce is featured on the cover of L'officiel magazine march edition looking darker and pumping the attire of a complete African woman. It would be recalled that Jayz, actor Will smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith reportedly invested about $1 million USD into the News York production of Fela on the Broadway.

This is a great touch and most people are proud that International stars are keeping alive the memories of Fela, the great music legend who fought against looting of funds by public office holders and their associates. Fela arrested and beaten several times for daring to speak against misrule and injustice. His house was burnt and his mother died as a result of one of the invasions of soldiers to his home in 1978. Fela Died in 1997  and his son, Femi has taken over from where he stopped. Though many believe that Femi is less outspoken compared to his father, he has built a multimillion Naira New Afrikan Shrine where thousands of Afro beat lovers go. Fela's sister, Yeni Kuti is the Chief Executive of Felabration, an annual week to celebrate the remembrance of Fela.
