Swahili Fashion Week, East and Central Africa largest fashion event, now in its Fourth year, will be held at The National Museum on the 10th, 11th and 12th November 2011 in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
“This year we have grown tremendously as we taking it to higher heights as the pre event show of Swahili Fashion week will be held in Arusha referring it as the headquarters of East African community, and then later the main event to be held in Dar es Salaam, so long as we opening fashion to new audience and keeping the tradition of being the first in achieving different goals in fashion industry.” Stated Mustafa Hassanali
This year the pre event show will be held at New Mount Meru on the 8th Oct 2011 from 8pm onwards courtesy in Mount Meru Hotel who are graciously hosting this event
“with more than 15 designers from all over Tanzania showcasing their collection, there shall also be some entertainment from a renowned artist in Tanzania , as part of an outreach programme of taking the work of Tanzanian and East African Designers more regionally”, stated
As we expands our wings Swahili Fashion Week recognises different angles of raising awareness of Fashion and its related industries s around it, and for the first time in the history of fashion in East and Central Africa, Swahili Fashion Week launch Swahili Fashion week Awards, in recognition of various stakeholders in the industry as well as people around it.
The public will be allowed to judge by casting their votes and the winners who will be audited by PKF Tanzania will be awarded during the awards ceremony on 12th Nov 2011. Some of the categories this year are, Best Male Model of the Year, Best Designer of the year, Best Female model of the year, Best Promising Upcoming Designer, and alike.

Swahili Fashion Week ni maonyesho makubwa yatakayohusisha Afrika mashariki na kati. Kwa mwaka wake wa nne sasa Swahili Fashion Week itafanyika National Museum tarehe 10,11 na 12 Novemba 2011 Dar-es-salaam Tanzania .
“Mwaka huu tumekuwa zaidi na katika kuthibitisha hili Wiki ya maoneshoya mavazi ya Swahili inapeleka maonesho hayo kwa mara ya kwanza kabisa Arusha ambapo ni makao makuau ya umoja wan chi za afrika na baadae onesho lenyewe kufanyika jijini Dar es Salaam, tukiwa na lengo kubwa la kuongeza uelewa wa mavazi, na daima kuwa wa kwanza kutimiza malengo mbalimbali katika tansia nzima ya mavazi,.” Alisema Mustafa Hassanali
Mwaka huu maonesho ya mwanzo yatafanyika katika hoteli ya Mount Meru tarehe 8 Oktoba 2011 kuanzia saa mbili usiku kwa namna ya kipekee kutoka kwa wenyeji wetu Hoteli ya Mount Meru .
“Katika maonesho haya wabunifu zaidi ya 15 kutoka sehemu mbalimbali Tanzania wataonesha mavazi yao vilevile kutakuwa na burudani kali kutoka kwa wasanii wa hapa hapa nyumbani nah ii ni katika kukuza kazi za wabunifu wa Kitanzania na Afrika Mashariki mikoani alimalizia.” Hassanali
