This followed the recent arrest of key members of the sect and appointment of a new police chief in Nigeria.

Nigerian agents appear to have made a major discovery in their investigations into the sources of funding of the Boko Haram Islamic sect. According to the Nigerian Tribune newspaper, the State Security Service (SSS) and its local and international counterparts have now traced the group's sources of funding to some Al-Qaeda-linked organisations in the Middle East.

Recently arrested key figures of the group reportedly told security agents that while the organisation initially relied on donations from members, its links with Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, AQIM, opened it up to more funding from groups in Saudi Arabia and the UK. Nigerian Tribune said sources in Boko Haram confirmed that Al-Muntada Trust Fund, with headquarters in the United Kingdom, had extended some financial assistance to the sect.

Other sources of Boko Haram funding reportedly uncovered in the investigations are the Islamic World Society with headquarters in Saudi Arabia and some prominent local businessmen, including one who donated a bus and loud speakers and an in-law to the sect's founder, Mohamed Yusuf. A businessman from Bauchi State is said to have developed links with Al-Qaeda in Somalia, having received training from Abu Umar Al-Wadud, its leader. The suspected financer later fled to Somalia in 2009 following the onslaught on members by security forces.

Meanwhile, the team investigating the January 15 escape of re-arrested Boko Haram kingpin, Kabir Sokoto, has concluded plans to bring him before detained Commissioner of Police, Zakari Biu, Punch newspaper said. The meeting between the two, a security source told Punch, would enable the investigators to verify Biu's claims on how Sokoto escaped from police custody. Sokoto was re-arrested on February 10, 2012 in Mitum-Biu, Taraba State in the northeastern part of the country. Punch learnt that the ongoing interrogation of Sokoto and the sect's spokesman, Abu Qaqa, was also aimed at unmasking other leaders of the sect and its accomplices in security circles.

LIONESS KILLS ZOO WORKER

  A lioness sprung at the throat of a zoo worker on a rural conservation farm and killed him, apparently because security gates were left open, the Johannesburg Zoo has announced.

Colleagues heard Joe Ramonetha screaming and rushed to help but it was too late, said zoo spokeswoman Letta Madlala. The 63-year-old was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, she said.

Ramonetha had been feeding the 11-year-old lioness or cleaning out her enclosure on the zoo's conservation farm in Parys, about 120 kilometres from Johannesburg, Madlala said.

Investigators found "It was evident that a terrible accident had occurred - gates were left open - the incident thus occurred due to human error," the zoo's executive manager for education, Louise Gordon, said in a statement later. She said there had not been a fatal animal attack at the zoo in 50 years.

"The staff are trained to close all gates on entering the facility, to let the lions out into the outside camp area, secure the entrances to the night rooms and passage before any work commenced," Gordon said. "Joe was attacked in the staff passage and sustained a fatal bite wound to his throat."

Zoo workers need to learn and practice stricter precautionary measures in dealing with wild animals.

Madlala said Ramonetha had worked for the zoo since 1970 and is survived by his wife and four adult children.

Zoo managers would meet to decide the fate of the lioness called Nyanga, she said.

South Africa has about 2700 free-ranging lions and 4000 lions in captivity.

It was indeed a sad end to the pop queen once regarded as a good role model but who turned to hard drugs after her marriage to another singer, Bobby Brown.

Fox News said they have confirmed the death of Whitney.

Already, gistmaster.com gathered that there would be a special tribute songg for the late singer at the Grammys. Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan would be performing in her honour.

Hoston started singing in church.She was greatly influenced by the likes of her mother,Aretha Franklin. The award winning star was one of the highest earners in the American music industry some years back. She also played the lead role in the movie, Bodyguard alongside Kelvin Costner.

Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston met in 1989 at the Soul Train Awards but they got married on 18 July 1992 in New Jersey. They had a daughter together in 1993-Bobby Kristiana. It was a marriage that went through a lot of scandals due to regular arrests, drug abuse, domestic violence and infidelity.

Bobby Brown had three other children from three different women from previous relationships.

Eventually, Whitney quitted the marriage to Bobby but the drug addiction didn't quit her. Though she was said to have been well rehabilitataed, the drugs had already done its worst on her, making her a shadow of the the elegant and cerebral world star.

"THE STORY OF 144 VIRGINS FANNING OLUMBA OLUMBA WHILE ASLEEP IS ALL LIES"-SECT

Ordinarily, the recent false publication on pages 10 and 11 of the Saturday Vanguard Newspaper of 11th February, 2011, alleging that 144,000 Virgins fan the Founder and Leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu while asleep, among other ruses, would have been treated with the levity that it deserves.

But considering the gravity of the allegations and in order to put the records straight for posterity and for those who genuinely care to know the truth, we are inclined to respond as appropriate.

We are amazed that at this age and time, a news medium could publish such a damming story without making efforts to either seek the truth of the matter or at least, balance their report.

In today’s digital environment, it is common knowledge that with the aid of Information Communication Technology, it doesn’t take rocket science to track any information from an Organisation, not to talk of one as Universal as Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.

While we await legal counsel on how to extract necessary legal remedy from the Nigerian newspaper, we are inclined to register our disgust with the shameful attitude and ``pull them- down- syndrome’’ of some news media. It is unfortunate that the Vanguard allowed itself to be ridiculed with such a false and blasphemous report from Ishola Balogun, a religious bigot, who is unable to separate his fanatism from professional practice.

No doubt, this latest sponsored attack on the Leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is recklessness taken too far.

The question is, why are we so interested in disparaging innocent people and Organisations without any reasonable proof of wrong doing?

We implore the Nigerian Mass Media practitioners to embrace the ethics of the noble profession of Journalism and operate within the precincts of accuracy, objectivity, patriotism and national development.

For avoidance of doubt, the role of the 144,000 Virgins in Brotherhood of the Cross is in clear conformity with the provisions of the Holy Bible, as recorded in Revelation 14:1-5.

The Virgins are “those who follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth, neither are they defiled and from their mouth are found no guile…”

If one may ask, is it that Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, whose membership includes all the movers and shakers of this world is so poor that it cannot afford the comfort of an air Conditioner or at least a fan for the Leader, if required?

Again, the World Headquarters of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is at 34 Ambo Street, Calabar and not Ambrose Street, as quoted by the lazy reporter. If Lozina and her hobby spent 14 years in Brotherhood as claimed, how come they do not know where the BCS WHQS is located? The story is not only malicious, but a mere propaganda and royal falsehood, aimed at scoring a cheap point and popularity.

The individuals mentioned in the publication, Lovina Amangala Iburere and Enoch Iburere were psychiatric patients who were delivered of insanity in a healing home in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.

About a decade ago, in her usual illusion, she granted an interview to the ‘News Magazine’, claiming that she was seeing lizards and other strange things; a development that suggests distorted mental state.

Now that she has returned to the devil for spiritual help to perform miracles, it is obvious that her psychiatric problem may have returned. We recommend that she urgently visits a psychiatric Hospital for treatment before she gets to her former nude status.

More importantly, Lovina, who operates a ‘business center’, which she calls the Truth Ministry and co-founder of Christ World Charity Ministry, and her so called husband, Enoch Iburene are well known for their deceit and penchant for evil practices.

The strong presence of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star in Lagos State is their greatest threat, as all their hidden satanic temples, acts, false prophesies and miracles are presently being exposed.

In 2003, out of fear that the Kingdom will expose all her immoral and satanic practices that earned her expulsion, she ran to the ‘News Magazine’, paid a reporter and granted a false interview.

The effort to blackmail is simply the ranting of ants engaged in an unending scramble for relevance. Now that her shrine has fallen, hunger and poverty are gradually laying eggs in their home. But can this save her household?

Now, following the ongoing Media Evangelical programme of the Fold in Lagos, coupled with the unshakeable presence of the Holy Spirit in Lagos, her hidden ‘shrine’, which she has been covering with the so-called Pentecostal Church is shaking, hence her resort to blackmail.

Unless she confesses with her business partner, which she parades as her husband, they will never have peace, as no one can deceive God.

For those interested in knowing the truth, Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is a Divine Spiritual School of Practical Christianity established by God Himself. It has one Universal Leader, Master, Teacher and Sustainer, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu. His First Begotten Son, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu is the Chairman, Head of administration and Sole signatory of the Kingdom.
Its teachings are centered on love, and love conquers all things. Agents of darkness are fighting with every available arsenal to pull it down. Unfortunately for them, it is a Kingdom that has come to dwell forever, as darkness can never overcome light.

LAGOS CLUB OWNER, SUSAN YUSUF STABBED TO DEATH

Susan Yusuf, the owner of the popular Suzy Q bar in Victoria Island, Lagos has been stabbed to death.The young lady, who happnes to be a very close pal of musician, Goldie was recently in the news for cutting off her business ties with D'Prince.Susan Q as she is popularly called was allegedly stabbed to death at her 1004 Flat apartment in Victoria Island.

The man who allegedly killed her also jumped down from the flat, which was on the 6th storey and met his own untimely death too.

She was running a club known as Jozing in partnership with D'Prince younger brother of famous producer, Don Jazzy. Gistmaster.com gathered that they both had issues and decided to go their separate ways. Susan granted an interview to Encomium magazine where she confirmed that she has reverted the name of her club back to Suzy Q.

She also mentioned that D'Prince was not a financial partner. It was a way of getting more attention of the hip hop community to patronise the club.
