PSQUARE 'DISS' DBANJ, OTHERS OVER COLLABO WITH INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS

Psquare (Peter and Paul Okoye) are at again. The singing duo recently described the way some of their colleagues in Nigerian entertainment industry go about doing collabo with international artists as nothing but colonial mentality.
At a press conference which was held in the London, Psquare said
"If you are taking me to a club to listen to western music, forget it I wont go there
Don't be deceived by this collabo thing...cause they are trying to tap from us
If you don't open the doors for us, we would shut our door.
I don't need to do a collabo with somebody before you can start playing my music there (abroad), we play your songs in Nigeria, did you do a collabo with anybody?
We don't need no collaboration from no artist, we don't need no Jay Z, we don't need no Kanye West
!"
Obviously,Psquare was referring to D'banj's new collabo with Snop Dog and his new deal with Kanye West record company. Darey also did one with chamillionaire
I support you Psquare, a collabo with Ras Kimono or our own Pasuma wonder would be sold out!

  2. Silly thing to say. Thought they were enlightened! In this era of global integration and unification, u still find people think like this? Such a shame that someone like me actually enjoys listening to these guys sing. And if i may ask, why don't they use original songs and stop stealing tunes from foreign acts? Why imitate and dance to Usher's acclaimed dsance moves? They're just a bunch of mediocres.

  3. Saying It Like It Is!September 8, 2011 at 8:09 AM

Envy much, PSQ? The green eyed monster is rising up, becareful because jealousy will block your blessings. I don't know what they mean by saying if someone takes them to club to listen to Western music, they wouldn't go there but I bet you they listen to it at their homes. How would they define their music if not Western influenced by the likes of Michael Jackson, Neyo, R. Kelly, Usher etc? Are they playing traditional music? Are they using any traditional instruments in their music? Are they not ALL using studio programming and auto tune, abeg make I hear word as if they are doing anything original and innovative! Who is copying who? Abeg, make them rest their vocals for singing and stopping talking nonsense, jare! These two want to us to believe that if Adele, Lady Gaga, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, R. Kelly, Beyonce or even that small pickin Justin Beiber asked them to do a collaboration, they'd turn down the opportunity? NA LIE!!! If that happen then my name is Mariah Carey!

This kind of talk bring about disunity, congratulate, don't hate brothers!

PSQ, you don't need Jigger or Yeezy but guess what they don't need y'all either and if they did, trust, I know your tune would change in a minute. The two of you sing better than D'banj could ever dream of doing, have you asked yourself why he got the attention of Snoop and rest? Your statement says alot more about your attitude which might be why you didn't get first crack at the opportunity to EXPAND your fan base.

Stay in your lane and leave another person to run their own race the way they want to run their own!
