WALE OLOMU- GONE NOT FORGOTTEN

This is the story of Wale Olomu,one of the people who inspired many of those in entertainment journalism today.Most of the publishers of softsell magazines knew his impact when he was alive.

Wale Olomu was born in London on January 21, 1964. He attended Times Journalism Institute and Nigerian Institute of Journalism. He was with The Republic Newspapers till 1990 and later joined Vintage People magazine. He was a pioneer staff of Fame Magazine, a tabloid that wrote about the lifestyles of rich people, politicians, socialites
and general entertainers. He was the entertainment editor.

   According to available information, gistmaster gathered that Wale died on Thursday 22 December 1994 at Ward A2, Lagos University Teaching Hospital Idi-Araba, Lagos. He was buried at Atan Cementry near University of Lagos. Those at the burial include friends and associates of the Wale such as Esse Agesse,Muka Popoola, Abeni Salawa the waka queen, Dayo Asaju,Kunle Bakare (Now Publisher of Encomium magazine).

 Expectedly, Wale’s brother,Dayo Olomu was also present. Today, Dayo is one of the best motivational speakers Nigeria has ever produced.He is based in the United Kingdom.
