Republic of Foreigner debuts its Resort 2012 Collection entitled Echizen. The designers use exquisite colours, patterns, and textures to compose creative connections between modern views of romanticism and the natural world.
The result is refreshingly soft, feminine, and whimsical – with sharply tailored jumpsuits and confidence-assured dresses, alongside playful tops, shorts, and trousers.

About The Collection:
The Echizen Collection is a dynamic fusion of chic Bohemianism and the natural world. The name of the collection was literally inspired by a beautiful yet invasive species of jellyfish called Echizen found in the Pacific Ocean.
The collection represents a mix of gauche and glamor—staying true to the designers’ tradition of mixing their easy boho-inspired aesthetic with contemporary African and world culture. Ideas for the collection were derived from vintage photographs of Italian Gondoliers in boater hats, and characters observed in films such as The Chicken Ranch (1970s), West World (1973), Dune (1984), and Giacomo Pucini’s opera, La Bohème.


 Coupled with these influences, movement, shape, and colour all play a big role in the collection, as do graphic prints, textures, and trimming—all working together to celebrate women, beauty, simplicity, aggression, everyday life, and change.

WABARA'S WIFE SURVIVES BRAIN CANCER

 Felicia Wabara, wife  of Nigeria's former Senate president, Chief Adolphus Wabara, recently survived a brain cancer that almost took her life away. 
  Felicia disclosed this recently at the Living Faith Church, New York durning a thanksgiving session.
 Mrs. Wabara was admitted to the Presbyterian Church in New York August 2010. At that time she could not talk and walk normally.According to the couple it was an harrowing experience. No one thought she was going to survive it. The cancer survivor says she is very grateful to GOD as the recent test shows she does not have the traces of the brain cancer any more.
 Her husband recounted what she went through in the hand of brain cancer. Wabara said he loves Felicia so much and  would be her husband till the end.He advised younger couples to be steadfast and love each other mom because that is the bedrock of every good marriage.

ANITA QUANSAH AUTUM /WINTER COLLECTION 2011

The long awaited collection by Anita Quansah London for A/W 2011 is finally here. The latest AQL collection is actually based on two subjects relating to the film "Avatar" and also borders around works by Valentim Quaresma- an artist and designer, known for his use of industrial materials in his work.

According to the creative designer and current award winner of Fashion Finest's Accessory designer of the year - Anita Horsfall..." I wanted to create a collection that has an earthy feel to it, but looks industrial at the same time, hence the use of semi precious stones and beads fused with hardware such as bolts, safety pins and washers, things used every day by human but used in an unconventional way to create show stopping statement pieces"......

Just like the film Avatar, the collection is in close relationship and interaction between culture and civilization. Hence highlighting the focus of the collection which is primarily on the recycled components making the pieces edgier yet feminine at the same time, fusing them with bright hues.

The AW 2011 collection has been created with love and will be available to buy soon on the new AQL e-store and available stockist.
