When Tom flew into Nigeria, it was with a lot of excitement and expectations. In the judgement of those who attended the Johnnie Walker annual society event at Ember Creek, Ikoyi that expectation was met and even surpassed.
 You can call Tom the 'professor' of Scotch Whisky if you like.He is hugely knowledgeable in the field of scotch whisky, little wonder he was made the global brand ambassador for Johnnie Walker some years ago.He helped Whisky connoisseurs discover more about the super brand and world's number one selling blended whisky brand.
Tom told gistmaster that In West Africa, Nigeria remain one of the biggest market for scotch whisky and he was very glad to be in tune with those who enjoy the premium brand.
 He told us that though he was in Nigeria for the first time, he felt really at hoome because he connected with a lot of people who are also big lovers of the Johnnie Walker brand.
 At the event, Tom held everyone spellbound as he talked about the amazing the 200 year old histoy of the Johnnie Walker brand.Celebrities and high networth personalities at the event applauded him as he took them through a tasting and masterclass.
 In his remark, the managing director of Guinness Nigeria Plc/Diego Brands, Mr. Delvin Hainsworth said " You know if you have made it in life, scotch is the drink of choice and when you have really made it Johnnie Walker is scotch whisky of choice"
The guests truly had a great time and experience as Tom was as engaging as ever. Tom hopes to be back in Nigeria soon to give more fascinating Johnnie Walker experiences.

The spectacular Smiroff Midnight circus took place last weekend just as we told you. Trust, many of you found the regular updates here remarkable because the talk of the town event was absolutely off the hook
 Smirnoff proved that it has an exciting pulling power as it brought some of the swankiest, the sexiest and top celebrities in town under the same roof.Ikechukwu the ringmaster at the event was re-named the rock master. He got all lovers of smirnoff rocking the party till the next day without a single dulling moment.Jimmy Jatt was overwhelmed with revellers who came tp rock as he controls the wheel of steel with melodious vibes.
 If you miss this, never worry, gistmaster gathered that more parties are going to take place in different part of the country courtesy Smirnorff.

KATE HENSHAW, HUSBAND HEADS FOR DIVORCE-ENCOMIUM

  So painful that few months after Kate Henshaw's elaborate birthday celebration in Lagos, the Nigerian actress and fashionsita is allegedly unhappy over cracks in her marriage.  Kate and her husband , Rod Nuttal have decided to call it quit with their 12 year old marriage, which produced a daughter.
  Encomium magazine this week, wrote that the couples have been having issues long before they decided the marriage could no longer work. They are also said to be talking to their lawyers on divource.

FEMALE BANKER KILLED BY HUSBAND BURIED TODAY

The remains of Titilayo,the banker who was allegedly killed some months ago by her jobless husband, Akolade Arowolo was buried today at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos. It was one of the fierce case of domestic violence recorded in Nigeria.
   Gistmaster  gathered from those around that there was no way the husband would have been allowed to come for the burial. At the moment, he is in remand at the Kirikiri maximum prison.
"Even if he was allowed an angry mob can descend on him"one of the sympathizers said.

LATEST NEWS:REAL REASON DBANJ DID NOT ATTEND CHANNEL O AWARDS IN SOUTH AFRICA

D'banj has finally opened up why he could not make it for this year's Channel O awards.In a statement made available to Gistmaster this morning by the publicist of Dbanj,there is no ill feelings between Dbanj,Mohits and the organizers of the award.
Dbanj did not attend Channel O awards because he could not fly the night he was billed to fly. He was booked on a Business Class seat but placed on waiting list, so on getting there, he and his crew discovered there was no seat available for D'banj.
 All efforts to get him to fly that night proved abortive.

NIGERIAN DESIGNER FOLAKE MAJIN, DAUGHTERS TO UNVEIL NEW COLLECTIONS

Fashion designer Folake Majin is set to unveil "The Royal collection"
alongside "The Breathless Experience" Collection by Miss Majin and
"The Circle Revolution Collection" by GM4FM's Gogo Majin
The 'strictly by invitation' event will be showcased at the Civic
Center on Sunday the 20th of November starting from 6pm.
In 1988, Folake Majin's "Schon Arik" label stepped on to the then very
young fashion industry in Nigeria with pieces that instantly caught on
with women because they were created to be visually stunning and
distinctive while paying painstaking attention to detail.
More than two decades later she remains a pioneer fashion designer and
a leader in the fashion industry with an ever growing clientele. She
has also inspired and mentored several young designers who have come
into their own success learning and gleaning from her vast industry
experience.
The event which features Miss Majin and Gogo Majin, Folake Majin's
daughters will also feature performances from A-list artistes
The Fashion show will have three segments, with three different
collections from the Folake Majin brand, Miss Majin brand and the
GM4FM (Gogo Majin For Folake Majin) brand.
"The Breathless Experience Collection is a perfect combination, a
combination of moving art and sound" Miss Majin says
Folake Majin's daughter, Gogo Majin, designer for GM4FM speaks about
her collection – "My inspiration for the collection came from an
accessory that has been made and used by my mom for her clients for
more than a decade on many of her haute couture designs. I took that
accessory and built the whole collection around it".
The GM4FM is showing for the first time. The label was launched on the
13th of august 2011.
She continues ".For Sunday please expect a different spin to a fashion
show. Expect original visually stunning clothes and breathe taking
pieces. A show to remember"
For Folake Majin the end result to the creative process must be
breathtakingly beautiful clothes using fabrics such as African print,
Aso Oke, silks, Chantilly laces etc.
Often referred to as "The designer to the First ladies" Folake Majin
has built a strong and loyal clientele (including several first ladies
of Nigeria, television personalities, business women, senators,
housewives and beauty queens) over the more than two decades since she
started the label due to her creativity and drive
The show is headlined by Folake Majin and features Miss Majin and GM4FM.
The event is powered by MTN and also sponsored by Bank of Industry,
Beat & Classic FM and Channels TV.
