No one reads them anymore! In order to be effective, PR messages now must be targeted, customized & localized based on factors like content type, medium of communication, behavior, education and interests of target audiences and connections between users."

Sex Workers Protest Killings of Collegues in Abeokuta

Sex workers in Abeokuta organized a protest to raise awareness over the disappearance and killings of their members. Vanguard reported that there was mild drama in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Monday night, as scores of commercial sex workers staged a candlelight procession in honour of their colleagues, who were allegedly killed by suspected ritualists, weekend. Dressed in black apparels, the sex workers, who stormed the state secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, wailed as they mourned their colleagues. One of the dead, who was simply identified as Sitira, was found dead at a refuse dump site at Olomoore junction in Abeokuta on Sunday morning. Suspected ritualists were said to have abandoned the corpse of the 23-year-old prostitute after severing some flesh from her body. AFRIMA RECEIVES 2,558 ENTRIES FOR 2015 EDITION

The International Committee of All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, in partnership with African Union Commission, AUC, has announced a staggering submission of entries with a total of 2,558 for AFRIMA2015 edition at the close of submission of entries on Friday, July 31st, 2015 at 2400hrs CAT. The entries were received on the AFRIMA website and social media platforms from African artistes, record companies, and music/entertainment journalists from across the continent and the Diaspora whose works were produced between May 31, 2014 and July 31, 2015 in accordance with the stipulated guidelines by the academy of the jury of AFRIMA. But more exciting are the entries from artistes of African origin living abroad and non-African countries which shows the global recognition of AFRIMA, which is in partnership with the African Union Commission, ONE Campaign and Africa 2.0. FCMB Posts Reduced Profit

FCMB Group Plc on Wednesday declared a profit after tax of N8.3bn for the half-year ended June 30, 2015, 13 per cent lower than the N9.576bn it made in the same period last year.
